24.01.2022 The FIFA sanctioned local annual Charity International Football Match for 2020 has been given the green light to continue in its 5th year raising much needed funds for homeless youth in the Coffs Harbour area, all proceeds will again be donated to our local Wesley Mission Youth Service. 23.01.2022 Another proud morning for RISE - firstly, the Newcastle Jets called in to our training session with the kids and were truly inspired by our wonderful Ambassadors...secondly, the organiser of the recent prestigious Gold Coast International Football Cup made an extraordinary early morning drive down to Coffs Harbour very early this morning from the Gold Coast to personally present the following awards to RISE: Overall Excellence Award for the team that showed the greatest sport...smanship, professional conduct and Ambassadorship across the whole tournament; Best Male Under 12 Player of the Tournament presented to our wonderful lionhearted Jaco; and Best Female Under 14 Player of the Tournament presented to our courageous resilient Nalah An outstanding wonderful result from our first Football Tournament :-) A huge heartfelt thank you to all of our Coaches, Physio, Volunteers, Participant families and all of our amazing Ambassadors :-)

22.01.2022 RISE Football Academy - Week 3 - and, they are still turning up, all 16 rostered players for this mornings training session, 100% attendance every morning to date, these kids are dedicated, out there in the darkness of early morning, warming up :-)

22.01.2022 One of our proudest moments at RISE happened on Friday morning this week when 2 of our wonderful Graff Avenue Project kids, Madison and Kataya, attended their first early morning training session at the RISE Football Academy and absolutely smashed it!! Extremely talented young ladies that would never have had a chance to show their natural raw talent on the football pitch without the opportunity offered by RISE, look out Matilda’s :-)

15.01.2022 Last Friday night, I (Hoys Physiotherapist, David Goodwin) was humbled to again be asked to officiate at the annual Goodwill Trophy Charity The game raises muc...h needed funds for the Wesley Mission youth homelessness programs in Coffs Harbour. The weather was not ideal but the spirit and passion of all involved (both on and off the field) was truely inspiring. The event raised just over $20,000 which will go towards helping some of the homeless youth on the Coffs coast. The stories of youth homelessness are frustrating and at times, heartbreaking. With this group of people often forgotten about. Changing the lives of these young men and women can make all the difference for each one of them but collectively, society can gain so much from them, if we just give them a chance. 15.01.2022 Cooking up a storm for our beautiful Graff Avenue kids...Shayne Long couldn’t be prouder of his Shepherds Pie this afternoon and Cam Murdoch, a Master Chef in the making, and a great young man to boot helping us out...a big warm Granny hug out to Irene, Willo’s Mum, who hand made all of these beautiful blankets and funky beanies with her dear friends for our Graff Avenue kids, outstanding :-)

15.01.2022 That’ a wrap...week 5 of RISE Football Academy...our participants were treated with a special guest this morning, Chris Hines, local identity and Principal of Unreal Estate, who is also the inaugural member of the RISE 1200 Club supporting all of our participants in the RISE Football and Well-being Programme. Chris was also treated by the kids with their traditional formal presentation to him of his RISE beanie as a small token of their immense appreciation of his selfless support, nice vibes all round :-) thanks again Chris

12.01.2022 Our Graff Avenue kids stepping out in style with their newly knitted funky scarves created by the lovely Irene Williams and her wonderful group of friends :-) The RISE family has now prepared, cooked and delivered 406 nutritional meals to our wonderful Graff kids and they are thriving, thank you everyone :-)

12.01.2022 Charity International Football Match 2020 - well, Covid 19 or the rain couldn’t stop us from raising money for local homeless, disadvantaged and ‘at risk’ youth. I am immensely proud to announce that our resilient supporters have raised $20,209.75 for our local Wesley Mission Youth Service!! Thank you everyone, I am so very proud to be amongst so many wonderful, inspiring people dedicated to such an important, worthwhile cause :-)

11.01.2022 One of our favourite programmes returned this week - Graff Avenue Football fun and exercise in the park - the kids were rewarded for their co-operation, lovely manners, amazing football skills and overall good sportsmanship with their very own RISE shirts, presented to them by 2 of our very popular and inspiring Ambassadors, Roger and Habib, who have now joined the Graff Avenue RISE programme as part of their own development integrating into the Community and giving back to football, nice one lads :-) and such a great, fun event had to be topped off with a sausage sizzle organised by the wonderful PCYC, and we even had Aunty Kerry serving up the tomato sauce, nice work...thank you again Graff Avenue, you fill my cup every time we visit you :-)

09.01.2022 Week 4 - RISE Football Academy - 12 new participants signed up this evening to bring our tally to 42 wonderful, enthusiastic kids at the Academy...and still training from 6:15am each morning that they are rostered on...remarkable :-)

09.01.2022 Wow, thank you to Team 7 (the Milhelffy family, the Hone family and Stanno) preparing and cooking 44 meals delivered this weekend to our wonderful kids at the Graff Avenue Precinct :-) Our amazing RISE Volunteers have now lovingly prepared and delivered 282 nutritional meals to our incredibly resilient kids in the Graff Avenue Precinct, the kids are thriving thanks to your selfless contribution :-) Thank you

08.01.2022 Another great day at RISE Nippers this afternoon, lots of fun and lots of smiles, everyone welcome :-)

07.01.2022 The inaugural RISE Nippers started on Sunday just past, a hilarious, fun outing had by all the kids and Volunteers :-). All the family are welcome if you wish to come along and join in the many and varied beach activities with these amazing kids and our wonderful Volunteers. Currently, RISE Nippers will be held every Sunday afternoon from now on, between 2:30pm and 4pm, we meet on the southern side of the Coffs Harbour Jetty structure, hope to see you there :-)
