25.01.2022 You can see all of the prize winners from our Multidraw Raffle here: https://www.rafflelink.com.au/riseforeli Thank you for all of your support!

23.01.2022 Corona may have cancelled our Fundraising Evening & Live Auction and our Big Community Beach Walk - but it did not dampen our spirits. Instead, the ‘Rise for Eli’ team did a private beach walk along with an online multidraw raffle. We sold over 8000 tickets and raised just shy of $29,000 - Remarkable! ... We surprised The Kent Family with a FaceTime Call on the beach during our walk and presented their dog Rex with the giant cheque. There were tears, disbelief and laughter. A moment no one on that beach will ever forget. The generosity and kindness we have witnessed first hand from the Capricorn Coast Community and beyond is MIND BLOWING! We are so humbled by the support we have received. The Kent Family are incredibly thankful. Now let’s get them home. Thank you to Our Capricorn Coast for the beautiful images.

20.01.2022 A message from Jackie: Wow where to start .... It is so hard putting into words the enormity of love and support we have received since we started on this journey all those months ago . We are so overwhelmed and we do feel so very blessed to have such a power house army behind us . ... I remember on our very first week at the hospital , I heard some real horror stories from a couple of parents , stories that I didn’t need to hear ... one in particular told me to forget everyone on the outside as she told me that no one will be there for you , your friends will forget you .... in that instant I walked away and I knew in my heart that she was wrong ..... and boy how you guys have proved this . Never once have we felt alone ! The continued love and support , messages and prayers from people near and far , people we don’t even know ... and as for our wee little Yeppoon ... a town that just keeps giving .... thank you . Thank you to Team Kent ! Gosh what an achievement you guys ... We can’t thank you all enough .... also there have been some beautiful people reach out to us privately to those beautiful humans ... thank you . We will make sure we take some time to pay forward and believe me we have a lot of thought going into donations to some of the amazing organisations that have helped us too ... Ronald McDonald and Kids with Cancer and of course the children’s hospital..... so thank you all so very much ... we still have a way to go , we got to get this treatment finished so we can just get this family back to where we need to be ... home

19.01.2022 A message from Jackie: Thank you to our army of supporters for making our little break possible .... we had 4 wonderful days at Pomona and had a lovely catch up with friends , Eli had some quality time with his mate .... all recharged for getting back to fighting cancer tomorrow.

14.01.2022 Well .... here it is the last PEG GCSF !!! Eli has endured 17 of these injections throughout his treatment Today he walked out of the hospital having finished his final admission and his very last injection We are more than proud of the courage , strength and resilience of this young man of ours ... Next steps : Final chemo clinic on Thursday next week followed by a well needed break prior to scans , reviews , line removal and hopefully home by the end of November !. Thank you to our army of supporters for your ongoing love and messages and prayers .

12.01.2022 Today Eli went back into surgery to have his central line taken out .... gosh it brought back memories and I realised what a massive blur it was when he had it put in. You can see from the photos what a difference it has made. Our handsome young boy is a bit rounder a bit puffier a bit battered and god knows he has grown up . I wanted to also say a huge thank you for all the messages of love and support and happiness. It’s been overwhelming and I’m sorry I’ve missed calls ...and may not have got back to everyone but i want you to know we appreciate all that love. Now for a few days of recovery , we have a lot to sort out in terms of getting home so please know I will be in touch when things calm down. Thank you

12.01.2022 Any QLD resident can purchase tickets in our Multidraw Raffle. We understand that most of our vouchers must be used in the Capricorn Coast region, as they have been donated by local businesses. If you happen to win a voucher, and you live outside of the Capricorn Coast area, and you're not able to use it yourself - you have a few options: 1) Donate the voucher to friends or family who live in Yeppoon, Rockhampton, Emu Park etc. 2) Donate the voucher to a Cap Coast charity su...ch as 'St Vincent de Paul', 'The Salvation Army' or 'The Smith Family' so they are able to forward this voucher on to a local family in need. Not only will The Kents receive the proceeds from the ticket sale, you will making someone's day much brighter. Win Win! The 'Rise for Eli' team are here to help you with any of these decisions and processes, should they arise. Only 2 days left to purchase tickets! www.rafflelink.com.au/riseforeli

09.01.2022 On this day exactly 9 months and 9 days ago we were told Eli had cancer. Today we were given the news that Eli is clear and that his body is free of cancer. Over the last 2days he has had a full body PET scan , an MRI of his foot and a CT scan of his chest .... all scans were clear . He obviously has some trauma to the foot and the drs won’t know yet as to what impact that will have on his foot long term ... but we can live with that !... You all know the journey we have been on, you have followed his battle every step of the way. We didn’t get through this on our own , we struggled, we fought damn hard on days when we thought we couldn’t take any more , but with Eli’s strength and resilience and the army of love and prayers and messages of support we did it . As you can imagine this is the best news we could have been given. Right now we are drained and it will take time to actually process it. Eli well he’s literally just taken the results all in his stride , he was confident it had gone and wasn’t concerned .... what a true brave young man he is . So thank you with all our hearts to every single one of you. We still have some medical stuff to sort out before we can go home and of course he has to ring that bell ... watch this space . Love wins

08.01.2022 Well here we are , we made it through to end of treatment The first few photos were of Thursday where we had our very last chemo clinic .... however it wasn’t quite the day I thought it would be , to be honest the week has been shitty in parts with 2 visits to ED , one resulting in having a 48 hour admission and finally after our last chemo he had to go in again yesterday to have blood and platelet transfusions. He is battered yet we hope he can now rest up and start to impr...ove .... So we are taking a little break whilst we wait to have the end of treatment scans .... some well needed rest so we can rise again

06.01.2022 Well after a short break away from it all , today we are back to it , thrown back into fighting cancer . Today would have been my dads birthday so I feel like he is definitely with us and today is Day 1 of 5 again .... however this one is different .... this one is our last 5 day stint .... no more going back to 5 days of harsh chemo. Eli really didn’t want to do this again , it took us some coaxing this morning and even though I tried to tell him this is it , no more 5 days after this , he just said yeah mum but I still got to get through this one . He’s tired like we all are and he’s had enough . I hope these next days go quickly and that we can keep going for another 2 weeks after that : to the finish line ..... we love you Eli more than you could ever know .

04.01.2022 Well this is it ..... this is our journey of gruelling never ending weeks / months of treatment finally coming to an end. Eli started his last 2 day admission today , so he gets hit by the chemo train for 2 days then has his final injection on Saturday and then hoping that all goes to plan his final chemo clinic next Thursday 22nd October ..... So to you cancer ... you horrid nasty evil disease I pray we hurt you so much more than you hurt our boy . So with one final fight we are going to do this .......

03.01.2022 And that’s a wrap for our Online Multidraw Raffle. We sold over 8000 tickets and will be depositing $28,913 into The Kents account. Wow! All of our prize winners from the Multidraw Raffle have been contacted. As luck would have it, The Kents knew some of them personally.
