23.01.2022 We’re so excited to get these beautiful porcelain veneers (+1 porcelain crown) bonded on for our lovely patient tomorrow! All credit to our talented ceramist Tom @creationsdental for putting his time and expertise into this case to make sure we got the result we wanted.

22.01.2022 We would like to reassure all our patients that we are taking extra precautionary measures at our clinic effective immediately. We care greatly about the health and safety of our patients, staff members and local community, especially during this time. Although our isolated part of Australia is yet to experience the full effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made a conscious decision to do our best to help "flatten the curve" and prevent unnecessary transmission and infec...tion at this time. Key things we are implementing: - Postponing all non-urgent dental procedures - Patients that require treatment will be screened at multiple stages for travel history, symptoms, and close contact with people in risk groups - All staff members and patients will be further screened by non-contact forehead thermometer as they enter the practice Please read our latest blog post to read about all the measures we are implementing as a team to help prevent community spread of the virus. Click here for full blog post: http://bit.ly/3d6iiuq We are greatly appreciative of all our patients being so understanding at this point as we all try to do our part in minimising the effects of what is now very much a global crisis. 21.01.2022 Before and after photographs taken in the same appointment Acid wear or acid erosion is something we encounter on an almost daily basis. Many of our patients are surprised to learn how seemingly harmless or even healthy beverages can be doing irreversible damage to their teeth! This patient had almost worn off the entire front layer of enamel on his upper teeth - we did a single session of composite resin bonding to replace what was lost, and we’re all thrilled with the res...ult Speak to your dentist to find out if composite resin veneers are suitable for you. And watch out for those acidic drinks!

15.01.2022 Composite Gap Closure Using composite resin to close gaps between teeth can be a wonderful temporary or even permanent solution, achievable in a single appointment! This patient isn’t quite finished with her braces yet, but we organised a day for her orthodontist to temporarily remove the front 4 brackets to allow for this treatment, which will help with the final positioning of her teeth. Even though it’s not the final/permanent solution (we’ll change these to porcelain veneers in the future), we carefully planned this case on the day to achieve close-to-ideal proportions and colour. We can’t wait until the braces come off for good, so we can do final contouring and polishing! @ Riseley Street Dental

11.01.2022 When was the last time you changed your toothbrush? It’s already the start of October..yep this year has just flown by and you may not have realised it’s time to change your toothbrush We recommend changing toothbrushes or toothbrush heads (if you have an electric one) every 3-4 months! A good indication is when the bristles fray and start to fan out.... If you’re thinking about buying a new brush or brush head, or if you’re after some toothbrush advice from our knowledgeable clinicians, feel free to ask - we LOVE discussing all things dental hygiene!
