20.01.2022 Today is Mabo Day. A day to honour the legacy of Mer Island man Eddie Koiki Mabo and his successful efforts to overturn the legal fiction of terra nullius and introduce Native Title into Australian law. We pay our respect to the Mabo family, the Meriam people and to all Traditional Custodians of the lands in which we live and work. It is time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. 13.01.2022 Regardless of where we live, or who our mob is, we can all go through tough times, times when we don’t feel great about our lives or ourselves. That’s why it’s important to always be looking out for each other. If someone you know a family member, someone from your community, a friend, neighbour or workmate is doing it tough, they won’t always tell you. Sometimes it’s up to us to trust our gut instinct and ask someone who may be struggling with life Are you OK?. By as...king and listening, we can help those we care about feel more supported and connected, which can help stop them from feeling worse over time. #RUOKSTRONGERTOGETHER #RUOK #ruokday2020 #ruokday https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIYlheyVIng&feature=youtu.be

10.01.2022 After COVID inductions took place in Pormpuraaw last week with our first 4 jobseekers, we had 3 dedicated participants attend this morning to start the cemetery clean up. They planned where they would start and they investigated how they would safely manage the social distancing and COVID requirements of the activity that was commenced today. These jobseekers have shown initiative and commitment to ensuring a safe and welcoming workplace for everyone who wants to return to activities. indigenous.gov.au #CDPSuccess
