25.01.2022 Remote learning can be challenging for some . (Students and parents !) A good idea is to set some goals and expectations . Sit down with your child and discuss goals they want to achieve and strategies you can use to implement those goals and follow through . In our household I have one who is pretty independent, works all day right through , answering all her Zoom calls and if she is unsure of a task will either email the teacher back or call her when she is available . V...ery rarely am I needed for assurance . On the other hand , I have one who always needed me last Term. We sat down and spoke about strategies and how to get through this without needing mumma . We set ourselves some goals and put in place a reward system and for the two days she has been back for Term 3 I hardly saw her ! (Lets see how this goes this week) I hope you all get through the next few weeks with ease and remember not to put too much pressure on yourselves and on your children . 24.01.2022 Whilst I know this is hard for all students of every year level- all for different reasons I had to share this post If theres a grade 6 student in your life, give them a hug and cuddles. To them, the cancellation of school is not a vacation. Its time they dont get to spend with their friends the last few months before they graduate their primary years. Theyre anxious, realizing they may never be able to walk the halls for the last time, play their final sports season or attend their graduation. They are scared that Tuesday March 23, 2020 may have been the last day of their primary year with so many things left undone. Show them support and love them during these hard times. #classof2020 If you are the parent of a 2020 student, copy and post on your wall!

24.01.2022 A very proud moment for this family . Today Miss S read her first read to self book. She has been working daily with mum during lockdown number 1 and now lockdown number 2. She works Saturday morning with me via Zoom and she has come a very long way in the past few months . In March she was struggling putting her letters and sounds together and now we have a completely different student on our hands . Mum has worked so hard on helping Miss S with her work whilst trying to look after a newborn and run her own family day care. Well done Mumma and a big big congratulations to one of my superstars ! 08.01.2022 Remote learning has been challenging for everyone but some kids have found it a bit more difficult than others. Whatever the reason, they might have fallen be...hind their classmates or become disengaged. So to give these students some extra individual support, we're placing more than 4,100 tutors in classrooms around the state from next year. Many will be experienced former educators and they'll work with our dedicated teachers to make sure everyone gets the targeted assistance they need, if and when they need it. Because no student should be left behind. And this way, they won't be.

Rising Learners Aiming for the stars Rising Learners is a Learning Centre located in Moonee Ponds . We cater for children from 3-12 years old. Our programs aim to cater for the individual needs of all our students. Our Early Years program is run by using the program Little Learners Love Literacy. This is an Australian Developed program published by ACER. It was written by Maureen Pollard. This program has been tried and proven to be effective and is based on evidence based research. Our Primary tutoring services are based on the Victorian Curriculum Framework. We build on Literacy and Numeracy skills and develop individual programs to target the needs of each particular child. During Lockdown 1.0 we decided to run all our school readiness sessions via ZOOM for our 3-6 year olds and we also ran sessions for Private tuition for primary aged school children . We work one on one with your child via ZOOM or in a group setting . Both options are available . We also can work with your child during remote learning if need be . Sessions are half price . $12.50 20 minutes for 3-4 year old $17.50 for 4-5 year olds 30 mins $25.00 for Primary school aged children 30 minutes .
