14.01.2022 Today and all days I commit to being a better ally to Aboriginal people. I commit to being educated and to share this with others. I recognize that Aboriginal sovereignty was never ceded.... I acknowledge the wisdom of elders past present and future. I know that I walk on sacred land, swim in sacred waters, and breathe the air that was cleansed - and that this is a gift. I know that historically and in the present, this country treats Aboriginal people shamefully and disrespectfully. There is pain, and there is often abuse, discrimination and very little evidence of true lasting authentic recognition. I won't pretend otherwise. I acknowledge it is a privilege for me to be here in on this land. I acknowledge my privilege in this country. And I commit to remembering my privilege, and be a better person, ally, human. Racism stops here.

A gross failure - it is disgusting that a committee didn't seem to bother to do any more than basic literature reviews. People are being tortured, abused and killed. Not sure why this isn't deemed as a national crisis.
