This is KINDNESS and care to fellow humans...... He then bought it but offered to show KINDNESS and care & share a few rolls with her and she a...ccepted. 16.01.2022 7 tips for side sleepers 1. Find the right mattress firmness 2. Put a pillow between your knees 3. Sleep on your left side ... 4. Choose a supportive pillow for your head 5. Do morning stretches 6. Dont sleep on your arm 7. Get MORE pillows!! 1). Most side sleepers benefit from a soft to medium soft mattress. This allows the shoulders and hips to sink into the mattress bringing the spine into alignment sleep 2). Pain in the back and legs are common! This relives pressure points! Using a pillows straightens your hips into a healthy spinal alignment. 3). This is one for those a little more conscientious, but your left side is better to sleep on because of your stomach being on your left allowing you to digest food better l! 4). If your shoulder hurts this might be why. Position. Firmness. Height. These are important for your spinal position and reducing tension. The purple pillow is an excellent option 5). Given the tendency to curl up in cold nights to recreate the good old days in your mums womb, this can leaving your a little achey 6). This might be an indication for a new pillow. It is natural for your body to prop up your pillow with your arm but it can cause arm and shoulder pain 7). These fluffy companions are a side sleepers dream! 15.01.2022 Let's support each other Here's some mindful tips to try daily 1. Learning to accept things as they are. Keep it in the day and try not to tip into negative predictions. We need to accept there is often no clarification; we need to accept things as they are and keep a gratitude list. We ARE in this together and need to stay together.... 2. Daily walks and /or some kind of routine daily exercise. Even dance to a song - it makes a huge difference to your endorphins. 3. Doing things together as a family: watching a funny film in the afternoon (e.g. life of Brian), playing board games, in particular Monopoly, Pictionary or internet games. 4. Reading books you never had time to consider reading before and carry out practical tasks like cleaning out those disgusting and crammed cupboards! Learning new recipes so that we avoid takeaways. 5. Dont feel guilty if you get up later in the morning! Make the best of it until it ends! This time will not come back. Good yes, but you will wish you had made better use of your time. 6. Keep a diary of what you did and how you managed to cope as often we look at what we haven't done versus what we have achieved! 7. Do some volunteering in your building, your street or online to help vulnerable others. 8. Keep in contact with friends and the wider family network through social media, Skype or Facebook. 9. If you have a religious or spiritual approach, pray or meditate each day. 10. Do not sink into destructive coping skills eg excessive alcohol/eating etc or even negative thinking. It could be worse. Keep to government guidelines and Please DO NOT give up hope! There's a difference between giving up versus surrendering..... 05.01.2022 Are you crossing your legs right now? If you cross your legs and feel tight we can help! I'm sure you've all heard me nag and tell you off for doing this so here's another reminder for you. If youre sitting with your legs crossed for long periods of time it can cause your pelvis to rotate and tilt. This can cause pain in the lower back and lead to a misalignment in your spine over time.... When you have improper posture, your other muscles are forced to compensate. This means they work harder than they need to, which can lead to pain and stiffness. Sometimes your issues of pain arent that difficult to make big improvements! To correct this we need to loosen the muscles, this can be done through massage simply or a few simple exercises at home can get you on your way to feeling better Try to avoid crossing your legs for longer than 10-15 minutes. Glute bridges Roll out your glutes & quads with a foam roller Butterfly stretch Keep checking back, we will be posting helpful tips most days to help your body with the increased time sitting down. To help you out we have some tips, they might be a little annoying but once you build the habit you will be thanking me HOW TO HELP SCREEN HEIGHT: Try use books to have your laptop or desktop up to eyebrow height, this should have your natural gaze at the centre of the screen. LUMBAR SUPPORT: A small pillow behind your lower back helps to sit all the way back in the chair and maintain good posture. 90 DEGREES: Aim to have your elbows, hips and knees at 90 bend - you can use a book to make sure your feet are flat. This one might be a little more difficult to remember but give it a go, start with the feet BREAKS: Remember to take a break often to stretch, walk around and hydrate!
