24.01.2022 We’ve got some monster organic eggplants at the markets this week, it’s our first big pick of the year. Looks for that black shine as it indicates that the plant is very nutrient dense

15.01.2022 REPOST I met Anastasia at the markets forever ago and I absolutely love her personality, recipes, photos and kindness. Since it’s strawberry season she made the BEST recipe with our sweet sweet strawbs, so look forward to that in our boxes in the weekend and check out this amazing berry preserve recipe and her insta// Yum. Can’t wait to make this with some ice cream @anastasiazolotarev ... Hi Guys! I’ve recently been very on and off in my posting on here for reasons I’ll share in the near future but in the meantime I’ve missed connecting and sharing food and stories with you all! So hoping this week to get back into it a bit A few weeks ago @ritasfarm shared a huge box of their organic strawberries with me, it really felt like Christmas has come early, that summer is here, and that I’m sort of even transported back to the days when we would make pots and pots full of berry preserves. So I have shared my recipe for a quick strawberry preserve in their upcoming delivery boxes which you can order through their page @ritasfarm We use preserves like this in many different ways. At home my family would (and also in Eastern European food culture), just eat a preserve served by the spoonful in a mini glass or bowl along with some tea or coffee that’s dessert right there, sometimes several would be served simultaneously so you can try the different fruits! The preserve, which can be made from strawberries, cherries, sour cherries, black currants and more, is in itself a sweet and vibrant mouthful of flavour and celebrates the quality of the produce, the season and the origin. You can use this strawberry preserve simply as you would jam, on scones with cream, on crepes and pancakes, drizzle it over the top of vanilla ice cream and add some crushed nuts and you’ve got quite a beautiful dessert happening, add it over the top of cheesecakes, use it in between cake layersI recently used it in this 4 layer mini wedding cake that I made for my friend. If you find another creative way of using it, do let us know! Your kitchen and house will smell incredible whilst making this.

13.01.2022 And the fruit is setting I’m counting heaps of good fruit on these babies and the stems are growing up strong, we’ve 4x our eggplant production this year because everyone said they loved our eggplants! We also have long white, long purple, fairytale and baby varieties!! Can’t wait seriously! Doesn’t anyone have a good eggplant recipe other than stir fry ?

08.01.2022 He looks happy but don’t be fooled he’s not that happy that I took so many strawberries for dinner

07.01.2022 One of our messiest tomato greenhouses and is of course the one I took a video of But the tomatoes look so good, I saw some fruit starting on the eggplants and cucumbers too so I’m excited to start bringing these babies to the markets! I wonder if the weather will make up it’s mind about tomorrow and whether it wants to piss down on us or not, in any case we’ll be there rain hail or shine with a lot of veggies that we worked hard to pick all week! ...
