25.01.2022 Aware that there is still some hurdles to overcome but in the meantime...

23.01.2022 Hi all, well we have officially landed in sunny Queensland and I am ready to start taking bookings for ceremonies. So I have a special offer, for anyone who meets and books a ceremony with me before the end of July and quotes "Brisvegas Baby!", you will get $50 off your quoted ceremony price!!! So get in touch soon to arrange a meeting :)

23.01.2022 A new venue for weddings....what a view!

22.01.2022 Very excited to have just met with a wonderful couple and even more excited that I will be performing my first same sex marriage in just over a month! #loveislove

22.01.2022 I have a few ceremonies on the books for this year but still have plenty of dates available. One in April is a handfasting and another in October is a civil union (ACT registration pending) for a delightful gay couple. The ceremonies I can conduct are diverse and are only limited by our collective imangination! Let me know if you have something in mind :)

20.01.2022 Another possibility for an alternate wedding venue, Canberra's very own Henge! http://thehenge.com.au/past.html

20.01.2022 A couple of recent shots from Lisa and Damians beautiful surprise backyard wedding. I adore conducting meaningful yet relaxed ceremonies where the couple can celebrate with their nearest and dearest without too much fuss, with their pooches included!

20.01.2022 After relocating from interstate things have been pretty quiet here at Rites to Celebrate but I am now settled in beautiful Brisbane and open for business! Due to my already busy schedule, I can only commit to doing one or two ceremonies per month so best hop to it if you are interested in booking me for your special day :)

19.01.2022 Taking the couples first dance to a WHOLE new level!

18.01.2022 A different and fun take on a wedding shoot...if you are into Zombies ;-)

17.01.2022 Today was a truly special day, I was so honoured to be able to conduct a marriage for a lady who was my bestie back in school. Finally marrying the man of her dreams in a wonderful relaxed backyard ceremony on the outskirts of Gympie

17.01.2022 NEWSFLASH: As I am migrating north mid year, I have stopped taking bookings for ceremonies in the ACT beyond the end of May. However, I am still getting enquiries and have just been booked for a wedding in March! As a special offer, for anyone who books a ceremony with me before I leave town will receive an special $50 'Canberra Farewell' discount***but there isn't much time so get in touch soon!

17.01.2022 I had the great pleasure of performing my first same sex marriage last weekend for Paul & Perry. Certainly not my first same sex ceremony but this one will always hold a special place as the first I have done since Australia legalised same sex marriage. Finally making the statement for the first time that Marriage in Australia is between two people (instead of just a man and a woman) gave me a real thrill and bought a tear to my eye. I wish them and all who walk their life journey holding the hands of another, the very best of a long and fulfilling life together #loveislove

16.01.2022 Some great news for Canberrans! Change is on its way...

14.01.2022 What beautiful photos of a wonderful wedding ceremony in the country! Truly a pleasure to marry these two and share a few laughs along the way :) Photos taken by PixelBug Photography https://www.facebook.com/PixelBug.Photography/

12.01.2022 Got such a lovely thankyou message from the couple that I performed both their civil union and commitment ceremonies for today. feeling proud

11.01.2022 Am enjoying the festive break with my nearest and dearest. I hope you are all enjoying time with your families and wonderful merriment however you celebrate. Blessings :-)

11.01.2022 I am ecstatic and proud that Australia is finally one of many countries that supports and recognises same sex marriage!!! #loveislove

11.01.2022 So, even though I know tis only a matter of time before I will be able to legally wed same sex couples the same as I do those of the opposite sex, I have registered to be an ACT Civil Union Celebrant as well. Within a couple of weeks I will be able to legally recognise same sex unions within the ACT as being a lawfully recognised relationship. Although I have already performed same sex commitment ceremonies before, I am very much looking forward to performing my first ACT Civil Union in early October :-)

10.01.2022 My Civil Union registration has come through already! So I am now able to legally register civil unions as well as perform legal marriages. :-)

09.01.2022 Australia has voted YES to same sex marriage! Let's now see if the government will make it happen. #loveislove https://www.theguardian.com//australias-same-sex-marriage-

07.01.2022 Wedding photography special :-)

06.01.2022 Lovely happy couples in Canberra today!

04.01.2022 And so, the marketing campaigns to sign up for same sex focussed wedding service listing websites has begun. I dont mind getting the occasional email and was considering listing as I would like to do a few more ceremonies once we are settled into our new house here in Brissy. However, being a UX designer for my day job makes me a tricky demographic to market to. Read on for my response to the most recent email I received below : Hi there, ... I was interested in potentially listing with you but your website is not mobile responsive. I have attached a photo of what I see on my iPhone 6+. As a user experience designer who often works on designing websites, I understand that most couples (gay or straight) will spend their time using their smartphones to search for wedding services and without a properly responsive site theyll move onto something better. Get back to me when you have updated your website to be responsive and well talk turkey about me signing up then. Kind Regards Fiona MacPherson

03.01.2022 Last wedding of the year this evening. Rain, Rain, stay away! :)

02.01.2022 Have just received an email from the ACT government regarding the Marriage Equality (Same Sex) Act 2013. It seems as an ACT Civil Union Celebrant I will shortly also have the ability to MARRY same sex couples under this legislation. Apparently there is no requirement for either of the couple to be resident within the ACT but the ceremony does have to be performed within the ACT. I will be attending a training session next week to learn more. How exciting! :-)

02.01.2022 A couple of recent shots from Lisa and Damian’s beautiful surprise backyard wedding. I adore conducting meaningful yet relaxed ceremonies where the couple can celebrate with their nearest and dearest without too much fuss, with their pooches included!

01.01.2022 Heading out to conduct a commitment ceremony for a couple of great guys out at Poachers Pantry this arvo, and a fine day for it too! feeling wonderful
