22.01.2022 We see you, We hear you and we Love you We love being Australian and the freedoms that come with it, though we can never accept these priviliges until they include every single one of us, all our brothers and sisters no matter their skin colour, gender or sexuality. Yes, we are upset to see in this day and age that parts of the human race are still oppressed, our indigenous brothers and sisters have had to fight for their rightful equalities and freedoms for far ...too long. NOW, we all stand together and we say NO to racism, NO to hate, and we will NO LONGER allow this to be accepted in society. Australian Tattoo Events has always acknowledged the traditional and only custodians of this land, and have always been truly thankful to live here. Racism and discrimination, something that has NEVER been accepted within our events and NEVER will be. Any person found to stand against equality, love and acceptance of one another no matter their race, are not welcome at any of our events or affiliations. We would also like to acknowledge our long time master of ceremonies and progressive social figure, who has been standing along side the Australian indigenous family and community to create awareness and equality for all. @chasingghosts - we’re here to support in any way we can. 13.01.2022 Everyone’s been hanging out for some good news, unfortunately there’s been a lack of good news the past few weeks... It’s with great sadness that we tell you that the Rites of Passage Tattoo Festival has been cancelled for 2020. Curating Australia’s Most Prestigious Tattoo Festival is a fine art, with the current circumstances in Australia, with international travel restrictions in place, we don’t believe we can provide you with an event to the caliber that the Rites of Pa...ssage name deserves. Rites of Passage is many of Australia and the worlds tattoo artists favourite Tattoo Festival, as it is for us also. Not being able to run this event has been challenging for our team and extremely disappointing, but we are lucky to be alive and to be able to run it again in the future when times are more certain. In light of that disappointing news, we DO have some good news! @austattooexpo will 100% run this year in Melbourne, along with other states, we are now in the final stages approval from the federal government on our proposed dates later in the year and we are extremely excited! Tickets and confirmed details will be posted here as well as on Australian Tattoo Expo. All tickets purchased for ROP have now been refunded, the team at AEG will be contacting all artists and exhibitors in regards to refunds for Rites of a Passage Tattoo Festival starting next week. 10.01.2022 It is with heavy hearts, we must make the extremely sad and costly decision to postpone all events under the Australian Exhibition Group portfolio to new dates in 2021. We believe Australia is in its most uncharted and unsafe times ever experienced. This decision is hard on many fronts, most importantly because of our amazing exhibitors and patrons that we continually strive to do our best for. Our goal has always been to provide you with experiences, a place to gather,... socialize, and feel a sense of community and happiness within our events. With the current state of disaster, we now know without a doubt that it is impossible for us to provide events that fulfil those above desires, and even as importantly, events that are undeniably safe for all in 2020. We’ve done our best to manage this crisis on all fronts presented to us, it has been an extremely overwhelming, upsetting, financially and personally catastrophic experience from the start, as it knowingly has been for many other Australians. In the past 5 months, we have watched our hard work from the better part of a decade crumble and slip between our fingers, with absolutely nothing to do but watch the situation worsen. Whilst we know that you have been let down, and some of you believe that WE personally have let you down, these actions and choices we have made were not done lightly or personally, not that we have had any choice in the matter. We are trying to survive our hardships and come out on the other side, just as you are, just as all Australians are. All our Exhibitors, Tattoo Artists, Retail Vendors, Event Sponsors and Partners, we will be moving all bookings and booth credits for 2020 to new 2021 dates. We are fighting to hold onto the Australian Event Sector, and we will never give up on bringing people together to unite, laugh and live. Our values stand for freedom of choice, unity, equality and love, until we can run events that deliver these values, we must stand back and let these dark times pass. As hard as that will be.
