24.01.2022 Just checking in on our U13 and their skills training.

22.01.2022 What a beautiful night for our last training . Great work U13s. We will miss you all.

19.01.2022 ROUND 1 DONE & UNDER 11'S TRAINING!! Congratulations to all the Juniors who played this weekend. It was great to finally see competition hockey being played this season. We had great results in all grades with wins in Under 13 boys, Under 15 boys and Under 16 girls and the Under 13 girls who are still developing some new and young players only went down 2 - 0 but came together really well.... We are still waiting on confirmation for a start date for the Senior competition which was scheduled for this weekend. We'll advise you as soon as we get any updates from Hockey Victoria. UNDER 11'S TRAINING This week we welcome back to the pitch our Under 11's. Training will be at 5.15 to 5.50pm and a reminder that all players need to bring their own water bottle and use the hand sanitiser before entering the field. Parents can enter the grounds to watch as long there are no groups larger than 10. UNDER 18 - 14 GRADE An email was sent out earlier regarding the proposed Under 18 - 14 grade for those juniors who are missing out on a game so make sure you submit the EOI form asap The next couple of weeks will be interesting and we will keep you posted. 18.01.2022 IMPORTANT NEWS : U18 JUNIOR GRADE Under current COVID guidelines we still aren't able to confirm if Senior grades will go ahead. As there's many older Junior players wanting to play but without a grade SHA has proposed all Clubs work together to make up four 18 & under mixed gender teams for the 2020 season. It's aimed at 14-18 year old players who would normally play in a Senior grade. The teams will be evenly balanced and the competition will be a strong Senior grade ...standard. Uniforms and teams will be advised once teams are confirmed. We hope to have this up and running by next week on Saturday afternoon. (assuming Seniors will not be playing) All other Junior grades will continue as normal. Please fill in the form below by Monday 20 July as teams need to be confirmed for the draw asap. Any questions don't hesitate to contact us Kerry Wood Mob: 0435 045 012 https://bit.ly/3hcl6Ht

14.01.2022 Hockey Roadshows Clinics Each February Hockey Victoria run Roadshow clinics through the local primary schools using local Coaches from SHA along with a support person from each Club. The kids really enjoy these clinics and they're really important in showcasing hockey to as many schools as possible. This year Tamsin McLean will be running the Roadshow clinics and Rivaside have been allocated Wednesday 10 February at Mildura Primary School and Friday 12 February at Wentworth... Primary School. The clinics will run from approx 9.00am to 3.00pm It's a great opportunity for any secondary students,Uni students or anyone that has can spare time on those days to support Tamsin running these skills clinics. If you can help out for a half or full day on either day please let me know asap. Kerry Wood Mob: 0435 054 012 Rivaside Hockey Club

14.01.2022 2021 SENIOR PRE SEASON GAMES, Hi Everyone, Welcome to 2021 and hopefully a hockey season as close as possible to normal. There’s lots of work going on behind the scenes with SHA making sure we're ready to get everyone back on the pitch for round 1.... This year Rivaside training will be on a Wednesday night for all Senior teams and Sunday night for some Junior teams. Information about our pre-season training sessions will come out shortly but in the meantime because our Senior teams didn't get any game time last year we thought we could do a 4 week run of pre-season games on a Friday night for all Senior male and female players so they can ease themselves back into the game before the season starts. This would also include Juniors who played in Senior teams (13+ for safety reasons). At this stage the first week would be intra club games and depending on interest and numbers could also look at opening it up to other Clubs for competition. These would be structured games played from 6.30 to 8.00pm and starting Friday 19th February. Teams would be made up on the night depending on numbers. Everyone is welcome to play some or all of the rounds depending on when you're available and if you have a friend who is interested in playing please bring them down. A message will be sent out on all the Whats App platforms so rsvp there or via return email. We'll also be looking for umpires on the night so if anyone is available please let us know. Any queries or suggestions please let me know. Kerry Wood President Mob: 0435 054 012

14.01.2022 Hi Everyone, A reminder that our Bunnings BBQ is on this Sunday and I'm still urgently needing volunteers in the 10-30 - 12.30 time slot and the 12.30 - 2.30 time. So if you can spare 2 hours that would be a huge help and you can let me know via email, text or on the App.... Thanks Kerry Wood Mob: 0435 054 012 -- Rivaside Hockey Club

10.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Congratulations to all the Juniors teams on another great weekend. We had wins in U13 boys, U15 boys and U16 Girls. The U13 Girls had a great game and played well but went down due to lack of numbers. This weekend saw the start of the 18 and under mixed club and mixed gender teams and were really successful with high skills and great to watch. Both games played were close scores with wins by The Abominable Snowmen over The Leprechauns 4 - 0 and Dragons over Hyd...ra 3 - 2 (photo). Sorry we still don't have anything to advise about the Senior Comp but this will be discussed by SHA over the coming week. Training will be as per usual this week and all Seniors wanting to keep up their fitness and skills are welcome to come down. Kerry Wood Mob: 0435 054 012

10.01.2022 IMPORTANT UPDATE NSW have just advised new guidelines for border town crossings which are now limited to work, education and access to medical services. Any other cross-border activities by NSW residents will require 14 day isolation when they return home. At this stage sport is not included as a reason to cross the border. A meeting has been called by SHA to discuss our options. In the meantime to get an idea how this will affect teams please let me know if you are impacted... by these changes. This will apply to all 4 junior teams and the proposed under 18 team. Kerry Wood Mob:0435 054 012

10.01.2022 Hey everyone. Annie will be down at the pitch on Wednesday from 4 pm. If you would like anything specific, give Annie a call to bring it up. Cheers

06.01.2022 Here at Rising Star Hockey Academy we have designed a specialist program to prepare senior and junior players with the necessary skills and fitness for the upco...ming season in 2021. This program is open to a range of players such as those looking at getting back into the hockey mindset after a season off and to any players looking to further their hockey career into state team both in South Australia and Victoria. Our main focus during this program is to offer guidance on further developing your individual skills and team play. We are also aiming to increase your fitness and game awareness. The summer program will commence on Friday 13th November and the final session will be Friday 18th December and is currently priced at $250. Our coaching team include our Director and Head Coach Jamie Pain and our newest recruit Jade Chapman. 05.01.2022 SEASON UPDATE Hi Everyone, As advised by SHA the decision was made last night to cancel all Senior Comps for this season. We are still running the Junior Competition as normal and hopefully this will remain the same.... Next week will see the introduction of face masks and we will update everyone on how that will be implemented as more details come to hand.. Players will not be required to wear a mask. All Seniors are still welcome to come down to training at any time and also to come down on the weekends to watch the Juniors in action. The 18&U grade is played on Saturday afternoons at 2.25 and 3.45 and umpire mentoring is also available at those times for anyone wanting to obtain their Community Certificate. We are hopeful once things settle down to hold a couple of gala days and bring all players back to the pitch before the end of the year. In the meantime fingers crossed there won't be any hold ups with the Under 9/11's starting in the next couple of weeks. Thanks everyone for your patience for what's been a really challenging year. 05.01.2022 For all those stuck at home

05.01.2022 Hi Everyone, SEASON SHUT DOWN Unfortunately today's guidelines advising of the Stage 3 restrictions means an end to the current season of hockey for our Juniors.... This is so disappointing for everyone involved especially the Coaches and players that have worked so hard and improved so much in a short time. We can't say what will happen in 4 weeks time but if the shutdown is effective we are hopeful of being able to run Gala weekends in September/October for both Seniors and Juniors. Tomorrow night will be our last training run for a while so make the most of it. Big thanks to the Coaches and Team Manager for all your hard work and to the players for committing to the season. Fingers crossed the shutdown is short lived and everyone can get back out on the pitch sooner rather than later. Thanks again Kerry Wood President Mob: 0435 045 012

01.01.2022 Hooked n2 Hockey Program Hockey Victoria should have contacted everyone, by email, that registered last year with the procedure for claiming your credit for this year's season. SHA are looking for volunteers to help with our Hoooked in2 Hockey program.
