24.01.2022 Back from a fantastic weekend of learning at the Tellington TTouch practitioner training workshop. This beauty is Fidestar, a sensitive soul who among other things taught me an important lesson in listening to the horse (and to the weather conditions!) and knowing when to go on and when to stop. Thank you Fidestar, and also Rebecca Booth, Sinéad McCann, Linda and all the Tellington students.

23.01.2022 Hi we have a new date for this event in Wagga. It is currently full but let me know if you would like to go on the waiting list.

22.01.2022 And, we've rescheduled again (thanks Covid) .... this is a great opportunity for owners, and practitioners to learn about the Tellington Method and I'm excited to be assisting Rebecca Elementals Equine Therapies with this two day workshop.

21.01.2022 Made a new friend today and what a gorgeous gentle giant he is. I was regretting the lack of a step ladder to work on his almost 18hh back but he dipped his neck and head beautifully so I could work on his poll. Thanks Astro you are a true salt of the earth good guy x

20.01.2022 This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the Tellington method from Rebecca Booth. She's an experienced and compassionate practitioner and an awesome teacher. Places are limited so book in soon.

18.01.2022 Harking back to March and just before lockdown, it was Aonach ... the annual gathering of Connemara ponies and people in Wagga. We were very happy to sponsor the most successful junior rider, who for the second year running was Jade Smith. Congratulations Jade!

17.01.2022 Astro must have read my last post about him ... he had a milk crate ready for me today. Such a thoughtful boy! And he was pretty curious when this poddy stopped by for a look at the stables.

17.01.2022 Peaceful .... Miss Caramel ... blissing out on Surefoot pads .... labradors just lounging .....

17.01.2022 Hi if any of my clients would like a cranio sacral therapy session for their horse I have the very talented Stef from Integrated Equine Services coming tomorrow to treat horses at my place in North Wagga. There is one available appointment so let me know if you would like it.

17.01.2022 So it's the 1st of August, and if you don't know your horse's birthday do give them a carrot and a hug, well heck do that anyway ... carrots and hugs are great. Also check out this post from Jess at Equestricare ... enjoy and also I have room for one treatment tomorrow afternoon - in the Wagga area. Happy Day Horses! https://horsemassagecourse.com.au//does-your-horse-really-

16.01.2022 The 'doing nothing' is often the hardest part of treating a horse. While I am stretching, releasing and softening tissue it feels practical, positive and hands on. Yet the action of the 'doing nothing' is where the magic happens. And the more I have learned to listen to horses and to be patient in the wait for their responses, the more I have learned about myself. They are indeed wonderful teachers.

14.01.2022 Introducing Blue. This lovely girl is believed to be a Waler, she is 10 years old and until recently spent her life as a paddock pony. It is thought that she may have suffered from indifferent care in her past and she is rather apprehensive of people. Blue is now in a happy place with a new owner who is keen to restore her to physical health and emotional happiness. I am excited to be part of this journey and hope I can bring you updates along the way. First visit and a body work session to explore and identify any issues and promote relaxation and acceptance of contact. You nailed it Blue!

13.01.2022 Had a great time with Maddie and the sure foot pads today ... a very expressive response .... I only have the medium pads at the moment and have found some horses a bit disconcerted by the sinking feeling but not Maddie ... she stayed on them about ten minutes blinking and relaxing and then after some head shaking she stepped off and kicked them out of the way then yawned and zoned out! This was at the end of a full body work session. Sleep well Mads.

10.01.2022 It's a pleasure to work with this sweet guy and superstar dressage pony - Nelshie .... he's cute, cheeky and always appreciative. Thanks for letting me at him: Roseneath Equestrian

09.01.2022 Making bodywork work for your horse Many people believe that equine massage/ bodywork is a ‘lovely treat’ for their horse, however it’s important to understand ...that bodywork can be an integral part of your horses’ wellbeing and can dramatically improve their physical performance and emotional state. Regular bodywork can help prevent future injuries occurring by keeping the soft tissue supple and joints flexible. The more often they work, the more often bodywork is recommended. Horses that don’t benefit from regular sessions (8-10 weeks) can experience a decrease in their range of motion, muscle fatigue and pain, all of which affect performance and emotional wellbeing. And you might say; - but I don’t ride my horse - they only get ridden lightly - my horse is young and not in training - my horse is retired. Bodywork is for all horses, whatever age or discipline, whether you ride or don’t ride. Bodywork releases natural pain relieving endorphins, reduces inflammation, increases ROM and helps to reset and promote the body’s natural healing process benefits that apply to all of our equine companions. It’s extremely rare to come across a horse that does not require bodywork. So whether you’re a weekend warrior in the saddle, high performance athlete or just enjoy watching sunsets with your horse, think about making bodywork work better for your horse. Side note: Bodywork is most effective when it’s incorporated with movement. Which includes focus and attention, encouraging flexibility and putting a horse in a weight balancing position.

06.01.2022 Pic of the day .... well you gotta love a droopy bottom lip ... Astro you are rapidly becoming my pin up pony!!
