19.01.2022 ~~~ These beautiful locs belong to an even more beautiful woman. I can’t put in to words how special this day was - there was a dolphin, maybe that helps with getting across the magic. We started the day as strangers and left as friends ... These locs have their own funky style of sectioning. I neatened up the lines, which will help with the sectioning getting tangled but otherwise left the sections as they were. ~~~ It is possible to resection locs but it’s more of a repair session than a maintence, depending on the sections and it’s not necessary. 18.01.2022 These babies had started to merge together at the bases (top), were getting a little strangled from having string in them and had flattened at the nape of the neck. ------- With partials, it is common to have more matting at the bases because your hair is constantly rubbing on them and getting tangled. ... You can help prevent this by seperating and brushing your hair every morning and evening and taking the time to go through and pull apart / separate your locs [this applies for a full head as well] Flat spots can happen when you don’t let your locs dry fully and/or when you go to bed with wet locs. They can also occur with poor foundations or too long between maintenance sessions. Make sure you always let your locs dry and try not to go to bed with wet hair. Palm rolling when your locs are wet will also help prevent this. -------- We removed the string, pulled in the fly away parts and got the locs back to their shape; the string made them zig-zag. Fixed up the bases and rounded off the flat bits. We didn’t tighten too close to the scalp as that can be quite harmful for sensitive skin / scalps. -------- With beads and hair wraps, it’s good to change them up and move them around so that they don’t strangle your loc and cause weak spots. Some people like having funky, quirky and zig zag locs though - and that’s groovy too -------- These locs are now ready and on their way to becoming yoga instructors! 07.01.2022 . They went curly; I couldn’t be happier about that I’m loving them sooo much, they feel so sacred. Super excited to get over the hump and be able to swim / dive /snorkel whenever I want without worrying; let them soak up all that cosmic wisdom.
