22.01.2022 For those supporting a person with dementia to live WELL, remember this:

21.01.2022 Reiki is the best vibration for helping someone to relax well and deeply. Relaxation is key to human health and recovery because it initiates our natural and innate healing abilities. It is when we are truly relaxed that true healing can take place. (Chyna Honey)

17.01.2022 Add your name to #ShowYouCare for mental illness TODAY! As a nation, we need to do more for Australians so they know they are not alone.

17.01.2022 The following YouTube video is very interesting regarding understanding how challenging daily life is for the person living with Alzheimer's disease. Highly insightful. Please note I do not agree with the rather negative wording used by the broadcaster at the beginning. Dementia is a challenge, but with education and support, it can be filled with light and hope. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LL_Gq7Shc-Y

06.01.2022 Read about the effect of aromatherapy for a person living with dementia. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20377818 In a nutshell:... Bergamot - helps to relieve stress, anxiety and agitation. Lavender - helps to calm and balance strong emotions. Can support a person with depression, anger or irritability and insomnia. Lemon Balm - works well for those struggling with insomnia or anxiety. Peppermint - energises, stimulating the mind whilst calming the nerves at the same time. Rosemary - supports cognitive performance and overall mood. Helps increase appetite. Yland Ylang - excellent for promoting a restful sleep. Wonderful for carers with disturbed sleep or insomnia.

05.01.2022 'You don't get over grief, you just learn to have it as part of your life.' This analogy of how we deal with bereavement is spot on.

04.01.2022 Want a super quick and easy way to gather a moment of mindfulness when you feel stressed or anxious? This can be done anywhere and anytime. If you start to feel tense in your body and are noticing anxiety or anger or stress creeping over you, do this: Breathe in, breathe out. Name 4 things you can see.... Name 4 things you can hear. Name 2 things you can feel. Name 1 things you can taste or smell. You can do this in your head or out-loud. Don't forget it's not only for moments of stress, it's an excellent way to really BE in the MOMENTS of specialness!
