25.01.2022 Kindergarten are learning to use digital technologies in every day life. They have used Google Augmented Reality to create a range of animals that have come to life in the classroom.



23.01.2022 This week Kindergarten were delighted to participate in the Kindifarm incursion. Students had the opportunity to revisit and consolidate concepts which had been explored earlier in the year relating to living things and their needs. The hands-on experience of feeding, patting and holding a variety of farm animals was very meaningful for all. #LoveWhereYouLearn

22.01.2022 The countdown to our Colour Run is on - things are going to get messy!

22.01.2022 Kindergarten have loved using the Maria Locke Innovation and Inquiry Hub this term. They have used the space creatively during science lessons, as well as music and drama activities with friends from their buddy class. Students are excited to see what Term 4 brings!



20.01.2022 Stage 1 have been very clever by learning to code! They have used Scratch Junior to create a character and make it move. They started with making a Scratch Sprite kick a goal! Stage 2 have finished their life cycle animations and they have done a fabulous job! 16.01.2022 KW students have been working hard in English and mathematics. This week, they have been learning to write descriptions of characters using adjectives to describe their features. They enjoyed reading The Paper Bag Princess and writing descriptions of the main character, Princess Elizabeth. In mathematics, they have been learning to find different ways of adding and subtracting numbers to make a ‘target number’.

16.01.2022 2J have been working hard over the past week, practising their skills in writing persuasive texts. They are learning how to use the split strategy to solve number problems.



15.01.2022 KT focused on the book ‘Memoirs of a Goldfish’ for the week. They have been learning about the point of view in the story. Students put themselves in the authors shoes and stated what character they would add to the fish bowl and what would happen

13.01.2022 During science, 3R have been learning about animal life cycles. They have enjoyed collaboratively researching and planning a storyboard about their chosen animal. Students are excited to turn their storyboards into a stop motion animation using iPads. #LoveWhereYouLearn

13.01.2022 1N had the privilege of Bill the Badger visiting their classroom for the last two weeks. They have been teaching Bill how divide a group of objects into equal groups and how bugs protect themselves from predators at their ‘Ugly Bug’ incursion. Students have also enjoyed reading to Bill in their expressive and fluent voices.

12.01.2022 Throughout the term, 5G have enjoyed being critical thinkers and creative problem solvers in science. Students were given a brief to test and select materials in order to meet a particular design request. This week, the students were writing up their scientific reports in order to share their learning and present their findings and recommendations to others.

12.01.2022 Today our school community came together to raise money and support the fight against childhood cancer by wearing their favourite footy colours.

07.01.2022 The Premier's Debating Challenge Competition for Riverbank PS has been an intense one! Our Rhino’s topic in today's debate was that 'primary schools should start each day with a 30 minute exercise class' in which we argued the negative and won! Our Ravens argued the negative on the topic that 'we should ban all unhealthy food at school' and after some tough rebuttals, conceded defeat. Well done to all our debaters!

07.01.2022 As part of STEAM, Stage 3 have been challenged to build small structures using LEGO. These tasks prompted students to think critically and creatively to come up with solutions to the problem task cards.

04.01.2022 Year 6 had another spectacular time at Tru Ninja and trampolining excursions for their fun days of primary school celebrations. #LoveWhereYouLearn

01.01.2022 A big congratulations to our Riverbank Revolutionaries Year 5 Game Changers team. They have been selected to represent Riverbank at the state semi-finals next term! The Game Changer Challenge is a design-thinking challenge where all teams explore tangible solutions for real-world problems. This year the challenge question was: ‘How might we use technology to bring everyone in our community closer together?’ You can see their exciting solution in their proposal video. Well done to all the teams that participated, there were so many creative and innovative ideas!
