24.01.2022 Encounters with living dinosaurs. Estuarine crocodiles have been protected in Queensland since 1974. Here is a stunning 4 meter male we stumbled across yesterday. We have a healthy (but not huge) population of salties in the lower reaches of the Endeavour. Encounters like this are never guaranteed but always a wonderful bonus.

Departing at 5pm we navigate the harbour in the long afternoon light and hope for a spectacular sunset over the distant ranges.
