23.01.2022 $13 billion is being spent to recover the environment, but the water we have isn't getting to the places it needs to. What's in the way? Constraints are physical or policy barriers that stop or limit flows, and we need to address the physical and political limitations that are keeping our lakes and wetlands thirsty https://www.abc.net.au//murray-darling-missing-wa/12887342

22.01.2022 Inland rivers may never recover, but still Melinda Pavey won’t protect the flows coming down the Gwydir and Namio right now

20.01.2022 Good to see the new low flow rule coming into effect, but how much water would still be in the Darling Baaka, if Melinda Pavey had put in an embargo of floodplain harvesting? The rivers are dying, every drop counts until we restore a healthy ecosystem

20.01.2022 Today the Morrison Govt announced that no more water will be bought back off irrigation. But the Murray Darling Basin remains in critical condition, with over-use of water a driving factor. We can't build our way out of an over allocated system, buybacks are the cheapest and most effective way to get water back into our rivers.

18.01.2022 Yesterday a very important tree was lost, in a senseless act of destruction. The Djab Wurrung Birthing sites are nestled along the Hopkins river in Victoria, and a road project has been actively opposed by Traditional Owners for years. It’s a dark day for colonial history, and act of violence against country and culture. ... The Victorian Government needs to hear from the people. Call and email today, and get down to Djab Wurrung Country if you can https://www.melbournefoe.org.au/stop_work_now

18.01.2022 A very important piece on the vanishing darling river 20 per cent of the water expected to flow down the rivers from 2012-2019 was simply not there. Thats despite almost $7 billion being spent to protect the health of the systems rivers and ecosystems that rely on them. https://mobile.abc.net.au//the-mystery-of-the-mu/12612166

14.01.2022 It has been over a year since the Murray Darling Basin Authority was required to include indigenous representation to the board. Yet this still hasn't occurred ... how can we ever have proper management of the basin without listening to and respecting Indigenous knowledge?

14.01.2022 Does this look like a healthy river? Channel 7, Sydney and Melinda Pavey were out last week talking about drought recovery. But without an embargo on floodplain harvesting, and regulation that brings diversions in line with cap, the poor Darling-Barka will be the sight of destruction for years to come.

Earlier this week it was reported on Channel 7 News ...that the rivers were flowing. If all the people living in this great country were aware of the fight we are up against driven by politics, greed & corruption the country would be in uproar. 08.01.2022 Going live in 1 min - Environmental water and cultural flows. Watch this space

08.01.2022 Growth in private storages are strangling rivers in the north and keeping southern rivers under the pump. NSW needs to regulate floodplain harvesting so that water take complies with the law.

07.01.2022 Some good news! Dams dont make water, they simply take it from somewhere else. Thanks to everyone that contacted MPs and made this happen!

06.01.2022 Big news for our Barka-Darling coming out of NSW last night. Floodplain harvesting, which captures mass amounts of water for big irrigators up north, just got a whole lot harder #ReviveOurRivers

06.01.2022 The Morrison Government yesterday assured the failure of the Murray Darling Basin Plan by refusing to buy back water from willing sellers. We KNOW that ...irrigation efficiency projects increase the cost of water more that buy backs. The woes of dairy and rice growers in the Murray have been wrongly associated with buy backs - when the market reality of massive nut plantations buying high security licences and pricing them out of the market, and wild west water management in NSW are the real culprits. We know that irrigation efficiencies mean even more water gets used! Bad, ill-conceived, shortsighted and dangerous move Coalition

06.01.2022 A long history informs every action that destroys our river systems. Grab a cuppa and enjoy this food for thought

05.01.2022 Supporting the environment supports everyone interests. This is an important acknowledgment that things need to change.

04.01.2022 Buybacks are an important tool for restoring balance to our inland rivers. It's disappointing to see them ruled out but pleasing to see a renewed commitment to transparency, metering and compliance. There is much work to be done to #ReviveOurRivers
