10.01.2022 Will you host A WATCH PARTY THIS SUNDAY NIGHT (9:30pm) for our ABC TV + iview broadcast with your mates or family? The beautiful thing about watching a film wit...h other people is the ability to discuss, self-reflect, and share thoughts and experiences - which is integral to promoting understanding and change. Together we are able to learn more and understand about our shared history and future and what we can do to create change. Use these questions to spring-board your watch party discussions and then check how to support Dujuan's family's goals for change at www.inmyblooditruns.com/takeaction *** 1. What was your experience of learning about Aboriginal history in school? 2. Share a time when you held an implicit or explicit racist belief or personally experienced racism? 3. Share a quote or scene from the film that resonated with you? 4. Consider your own sphere of influence, what are ways you can support the agency of First Nations people and communities? *** Full Watch Party reflection guide downloadable at: https://drive.google.com//1vmESvuNEDjId63CmrkteSYL6-Jb6Lco3 Illustrations by Ilana Bodenstein

04.01.2022 2020 GRAFTON JACARANDA FESTIVAL POSTPONED The Grafton Jacaranda Festival Committee have reluctantly decided to postpone this year’s Festival in light of the evo...lving Covid-19 situation around the country. This decision was not taken lightly and was based on the Committee’s focus on the health and safety of everyone involved and to promote the ‘stay home, stay safe’ message to the broader community. We’re heartbroken to have had made this call, especially as this would have been the Festival’s 86th year, but due to the pandemic and the uncertainty around where things will be in late October we had no other choice. This decision was made after meeting with our key sponsors and stakeholders and it was unanimous that we postpone until more certain times in 2021 when we can invite everyone to a bigger and better event. We will still keep JACA HQ open to sell our great range of merchandise and answer any questions, the Clocktower will still be crowned and most importantly the trees will be in full bloom. So while there’ll be no Festival this year the natural beauty of the flowering Jacarandas which provides the underlying motive for our existence will still continue. To keep up to date with Grafton Jacaranda Festival news and details of next year’s event visit www.jacarandafestival.com The dates of next years Festival are Friday 29 October to Sunday 7 November, 2021.
