18.01.2022 Lets talk "labour progression" Baby will come when baby is ready and labour will progress at its own rate. Often early labour can go on for days. Relax as much as you can early on and believe in yourself. Once you reach active labour listen to your body. Stay active. Stay upright. Feel the surges.

17.01.2022 Ive heard a few times people saying they were going to have mum/sister/friend attend their birth because the other person expected to be allowed to attend but that the other person didnt support the birth plan. You need to emdeavour to only have people who will be a supporter of your birth.

11.01.2022 How tired do you get when you are nearing that all important "due date" and get the multiple calls/texts asking if baby is here yet? Baby will arrive when ready and anywhere in the 37-42+ weeks gestation is considered normal. To help with the constant nagging a lot of expectant parents now give a due month "Oh sometime in June" for example

10.01.2022 I was recommended this book by a fellow doula and warned that even though it's fantastic its hard to get through. She was right, its a struggle but I am committed to always continuing my own education around childbirth and how best to support the birthing mother.

09.01.2022 Listening to what your body is telling you is often all you need to do. A wonderful client of mine was once asked during labour why she didn't push during a contraction. Her response was that she didn't feel the urge to push. That mumma did amazing!

08.01.2022 It can be overwhelming if nearing the birth you are informed you need interventions. The best thing to do is ask for all the information so the decision you make is informed. By doing this you ensure you are making the best decision for you.
