25.01.2022 Have spent a wonderfully restful couple of days at the Riverglade Caravan Park in Tumut. Located on the Tumut River, which runs down from the high Snowies, the ...large park has about 100 powered, ensuite and unpowered sites. We're on a riverfront one. And even though it is a large park, a big central lush-grassed common area makes it feel really spacious. So many birdies here too, plus an adjacent wetlands walk and a river beach from which we "had" to go for a swim. A great place to base yourself when you Visit Snowy Valleys in NSW. *** The Grey Nomad Awards recognise tourism and attraction operators, caravan parks, campsites, and festivals that provide exemplary experiences for mature-age overland travellers. www.greynomadawards.com.au #greynomadawards #greynomads #vanlife #rollers #camper #RV #motorhome #caravanning #pubstays #bestpubstays #countrypubstays #farmstays #bestfarmstats #showgrounds #caravanparks #bestcaravanparks #stationstays #ontheroad #regionaltourism #ruraltourism #awards #destinationmarketing #tourism #AOA21

11.01.2022 Unfortunately we have to share some disappointing news. This morning the NSW Minister for Health advised that all caravan parks in NSW must close to the public until further notice. We will continue to keep you updated regarding future bookings, however we ask that if you need to cancel any bookings or wish to make a booking please email us at [email protected] as our phone is currently very busy notifying our customers. We thank you for your support and understanding ...during this difficult time, and we hope that all of our customers stay safe and healthy so we can see you again on the other side of this challenge. Matt, Gemma and Staff

07.01.2022 Naturally many of you have been asking how Covid-19 is going to impact on the caravan park and your future bookings, and we have been very busy re-assessing this each day and will continue to do so. Whilst we all face uncertainty about the coming days and months, rest assured that we are doing our best to continue providing you with a safe environment for your stay. In the interest of providing a safe environment for our staff and customers, today we have made the decision ...to make some changes to how our customers check-in on arrival; from tomorrow we will ask our customers to check-in via the door phone at reception, and collect your keys from the key box at the front door, which we will pre-arrange for you. If you require linen for your stay we will arrange to put this in your cabin before you arrive. Staff will still be on site and available to resolve any issues, and continue striving to provide the best caravan park we can. Whilst we enjoy seeing all of our customers, it is necessary for us to limit face to face contact at this time. If your future booking is going to be impacted by Covid-19 please be assured we will contact you and let you know. If like many others you have a booking and you would like us to move it to next year or you need to cancel, we understand this completely and ask that you email us at [email protected] with details so we can make those changes and confirm for you via email. We thank you for your understanding and we hope to see you all on the other side of what will be a challenging time for everyone.

06.01.2022 It is with the greatest regret that the Festival of The Falling Leaf have cancelled our planned event for 2020 due to ongoing concerns with the COVID-19 pandemi...c. Unfortunately given the circumstances, and the directives from Federal, State and Local Governments, there appears to be no way forward due to the associated restrictions put in place to slow the spread of this virus. Given that our event is seasonally based, postponement is not an option. We have been in contact with our valued sponsors today and are providing them with the opportunity to roll their sponsorship over to the 2021 festival, which will go ahead on 24 April 2021. Stallholders, performers and other parties are also being contacted today (Friday 20 March 2020). Whilst we are bitterly disappointed that our efforts will not be realised this year, we are sure that this is not only the right decision for the festival, but also for the community at large. The safety of our region is paramount and we fully understand the consequences that may occur through holding a large scale event during such a crisis. Many visitors had already booked their accommodation and weekend trips to Tumut for the 2nd of May. We would like to encourage these people to keep their bookings and continue to visit IF SAFE TO DO SO, remembering that the creation of distance between people can help to prevent infection. The balance between supporting the local economy through tourism and preventing the virus spread is a fine one, but one that we hope can be achieved to the benefit of all in our region. We would also like to encourage local community members to consider joining the Festival Committee once this crisis has passed. Given the scaled-back celebrations last year, recent destruction of the bushfires earlier this year and now this cancellation, we are hoping that the 67th Anniversary of the Festival in 2021 can proceed without incident and will exceed all expectations. To do this, a dedicated, hardworking group of people who are committed to showcasing Tumut and all of its delights is required. The next festival meeting is scheduled for 23 June 2020. Any enquiries can be forwarded through our Facebook page or email [email protected]
