21.01.2022 Finally getting to one of those jobs that’s been on the list since November, well that’s when the mulch got delivered . Another day on the farm gym, mulching trees, should’ve been done before summer, better late than never! The chooks have been enjoying the mulch pile as a scratch pit!

20.01.2022 Cooking dinner is a little more challenging tonight
19.01.2022 Thought I’d isolate myself down the bush for a couple of hours n start collecting for winter, I wasn’t really on my own tho!!
18.01.2022 What a way to end a busy day. Leisurely sleep in, followed by mowing, bee stings and spilt drinks marked some of the events on this Easter Monday. Isolation is really not that bad apart from missing our family and friends very much. Cheers to all

12.01.2022 Walked past this swarm today about three times before I actually realised it was there!! Bees at the hives were quite active, sun was shining, the Lucern patch next door to us is in flower, thanks neighbours!! And the bees are loving it!! Couldn’t let them get away, so.......
10.01.2022 Never a dull day at Rivergum. With 125mm of rain falling here over the last few days, our farm is quite water logged. I took the the dogs for an early stroll this morning, at this time, the expected flood waters were yet to reach us. Two hours later, there had been a drastic rise in the water level. The soaking that had been received down stream from us in the Traralgon ck. and other tributaries of the Latrobe River had decided to invade our farm on the way to the Gippsland Lakes. So far so good, we are yet to get any damage. Our house is well above the water line, hopefully the Redgum morass is loving the soaking.
06.01.2022 Fences are starting to emerge as the water slowly disappears. It will be quite some time before we can get in to start clearing the debris and clear the fences. Won’t get to check the river boundary for quite awhile yet. Will have to go on a search to find some missing new posts that were ready to go in for our new boundary fence.

02.01.2022 No power here at a Rivergum today so outside jobs were the order of the day. Fire toasted bread was also a quirky start to the morning.
