21.01.2022 An important message from Riverina Field Days Current Event Status: POSTPONED TO 4th and 5th September 2020 As you can imagine the logistics involved in moving such a large event has been stressful. We’ve taken every measure to not impede on any other local events that are forecasted on these dates, we also needed to work in with other Field Days around these dates to ensure our travelling exhibitors can also attend and spaced far enough apart not to affect other Field Days. ...We’ve liaised with our key stakeholders and found the 4th and 5th September 2020 is suitable for most. We will also hold our annual Riverina Field Days again in May 2021 on the 14th & 15th May to fall back into routine. We feel it’s important not to just simply cancel the Riverina Field Days as our Agricultural community and businesses need the support. We are hoping by September the chaos will have settled and the community will start to enjoy some normality again. Obviously we will react accordingly to any government restrictions closer to the date if need be, but for now we’re looking on the bright side of things and looking forward to bringing you a great event. Your current site booking will automatically be transferred to the new dates of 4th and 5th September 2020. All exhibitors have been emailed. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us on 69621180 or [email protected] From The Riverina Field Days Team

20.01.2022 UNPREDICTABLE COVID FUTURE FORCES CANCELLATION The Riverina Field Days regret to announce the 2020 postponed event will NOT proceed this year due to every changing landscape of COVID-19. Riverina Field Days organiser Roly Zappacosta said community health and well-being comes first.... We aren’t willing to put our community at risk by having travelling exhibitors or mass gatherings in our city. As much we’d like to return to ‘normal’ life, it’s going to take some time before people feel comfortable attending events The Riverina Field Days was due to be held on 14th and 15th of May of this year and was postponed to 4th and 5th of September 2020. It’s been a roller-coaster of decisions. When we first postponed our event from May to September, we were quite confident that by September things were going to be bright. In fact, we were very close to resume planning, however the situation in Victoria has not given us any confidence to pursue a successful and safe field day this year. This year’s Riverina Field Days was planned to have a huge focus on Farmer Health with some great new attractions for the whole family, however without full easing of restrictions, the obstacles and logistics to running a successful event is not viable for organisers. We are disappointed to cancel again as our committee has put in an enormous effect into planning, but with the current restrictions it was very difficult to navigate and COVID is too unpredictable. It’s just too risky and the burning question of What if? Not only it is disappointing for organisers, exhibitors, community groups and field-day goers, the Riverina Field Days boosts the local economy, hospitality industry and more. Our tourism dollar is also impacted. A high number of exhibitors would stay a min of two nights in Griffith, eat, fuel up and visit local shops. The Riverina Field Days would like to thank it’s committee, sponsors and exhibitors for being patient and understanding during such a turbulent year. The focus will now shift to May 14th and 15th of 2021. All exhibitors will be contacted. Thank you and see you all next year!

19.01.2022 A Message from Riverina Field Days Current Event Status: Decision Pending Following the announcement by the Australian Government to restrict gatherings of 500 people or more, we will continue to respond to COVID-19 global pandemic and will take all advice given and follow any laws in the best interest of public health and safety.... As the situation is moving so quickly and circumstances continue to change, we will be speaking to all our key stakeholders this coming week to review our options around a possible postponement. Health and Safety will always be first priority, however we don’t want to rush into any decisions straight away as the situation is constantly evolving and the Riverina Field Days is 2 months away. The uncertainty surrounding the time frame of the gathering restrictions is what is making the decision very difficult to navigate. Please allow us these coming weeks to make an informed decision. We thank you for your understanding and we will inform exhibitors as soon as a decision is made.
