19.01.2022 What is Shockwave Therapy? Shockwave therapy is new generation Electrotherapy used in Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine, General Rehabilitation, Urology and also used in Veterinary Medicine. A misconception, due to the name, is that it involves an electrical shock. Think of a bomb going exploding. The shockwave that travels away from that explosion is an acoustic wave. This is a Shockwave. Its main assets are fast pain relief and the restoration of mobility. Together with being a non-surgical therapy with no need for pain killers, makes it an ideal therapy to speed up the healing process and help various acute or chronic pain issues. Here at Riverina Sports Injury and Rehab, we are fortunate to be able to offer this exciting modality to our tool bag for the relief of pain.

But one downside of playing squash or going bike-riding, not to mention a dozen or more other sporting activities, is getting injured. It's a pain - literally so. We are specialists in treating soft tissue injuries for those who've pulled a muscle or find yourself stiff and sore. So from tennis, golf, cricket, football, netball or even lawn bowls - if your body's sore, give us a call on 69257295.
15.01.2022 Dry needling can loosen stiff muscles, ease joint pain, improve blood flow and oxygen circulation within the body. That brings results for those who are trying to optimize sports performance, recover faster from injury, or prevent issues from becoming chronic. Find out more contact us on 69257295
14.01.2022 Massage helps to speed up the recovery period after an injury. Receiving a massage for an injury helps break down scar tissue. Scar tissue is part of the body's healing process. Normal skeletal muscle tissue sits in a parallel direction so that it allows good contraction and flexibility. Find out more at Riverina Sports Injury and Rehabilition.

12.01.2022 What is sports massage? Sports massage is specifically tailored to different sports and sporting injuries. It is not a relaxing form of massage and can often be quite strenuous. 10.01.2022 What is Tennis Elbow? Tennis elbow is an irritation of the tissue connecting the forearm muscles to the elbow. Quite painful to touch and to move, tennis elbow is felt on the outside of the elbow. Golfers elbow, however, is felt on the inside of the elbow, similar conditions but opposite sides. Tennis elbow can be caused by repetitive wrist and arm motions and not necessarily from tennis. It can be a repetitive injury from hairdressing, builders and plumbers can get it. Any r...epetitive motion can cause it to flair. Our Theory is that it quite often stems from the shoulder not working as efficiently as it should. This can then overload the muscles in the forearm. The whole structure needs to work together. Our treatment includes identifying what specific muscles are involved then light massage and Shockwave therapy are very effective tools to stop the pain. We then give corrective exercises to balance the strain between opposing muscles and eliminate the dysfunction therfore stopping the pain. See more
