10.01.2022 UPDATE: EASTER SUPERCHARGED SHOOTOUT. Good evening all At the beginning of last week I would never have been able to see where we are all sitting right now. Aft...er a committee meeting tonight, we discussed the impacts of how Covid-19 was going to impact us, and we went over all possible scenarios on what was a possibility for Easter and the remainder of our season. After discussing Covid-19 we worked out that with even running the event with no prize money it was still not going to be financially viable. Also, after working out extra crew member of all the outlaws and family members that travel with racers and all the crew that are needed to run the event it was going to be hard to run it under 500 people. Finally, we were also told that our emergency services were not able to fully commit to the event and that really put it out of reach for us. In the end with all the info given to us from the council, ANDRA and what was needed to do to be able to make Easter a financially viable event it was a unanimous decision to cancel our Easter Supercharged Shootout. Furthermore as a result of last weekend and that most events have been dust effected this season we are postponing our remaining events this season to allow the club to regroup and come back swinging next season. This decision was not easy for any of us to want to make as Easter has always been our clubs most special and unique event and was also one that provided the club with its biggest profit and helped shape the year for any upgrades etc. This has been an extremely tough season for us with only 1 event ran that didn’t have the effects of the drought forced upon us. Up until last weekend we always found a way to push through, but it just wasn’t meant to be last weekend. The effects of the drought have put incredible financial strain and stress on the club and this decision to cancel Easter and the rest of the season is certainly not going to help us get through this any easier. We are now going to work on some social fundraisers to help try and keep our club alive. We haven’t worked out what the first fundraiser will be, but we are thinking of putting the first one on at Easter time so if we can get something organised. Anyone that wanted to still come up and support us please keep us in mind and if it’s going to happen details will be released soon. For those that have paid Easter entry fees and you wish to be refunded please reply with you bank details to this email. Again, we are very regrettable it has come to this, but this decision really is now almost out of our control. We really hope you might be able to attend one of our many fundraisers we are going to hold over the next few months to really keep us going through this tough time. Thank you all to those that have attended any of our meetings this season and we look forward to seeing you next season. SDRA President & Committee
