14.01.2022 All senior and junior results/ladders can be found here. http://comps.tennis.com.au/common/pages/public/rv/draw.aspx
13.01.2022 We ask that you be patient with us as we get the page set up. Soon we hope to have it full of information about local tennis!
12.01.2022 The programme is finally beginning to work and you can view results and ladders by going to: tennis.com.au and you will be requested to "join". Do so by putting in a password. Then go to leagues.tennis.com.au and search for Riverland Lawn Tennis. Then search for divisions. The headings are SD1 2015-2016, SD3 2015-2016 and MWL (Mid week ladies). Going into SD! 2015-2016 will give you access via a drop down to division 2. I believe the fixtures for the seniors is correct via this system however your club does have a hard copy of the full year as well.
11.01.2022 The Grand Finals were held last Saturday at the Waikerie Tennis Club. Excellent weather and great catering by the Waikerie TC saw some very good and extremely close matches over the afternoon. Division 1 was always going to be a close contest and the match lived up to those expectations. The doubles were 3 sets all and this was probably what most people thought would occur. The singles however did have some excitement with Shane Nettle from Cobdogla winning against the highl...y fancied Troy Lehmann 9-5. In previous matches between the two Troy has held all 4 results going back to 2011. However the girls from Cobdogla easily won their 2 sets keeping the scores close. With Brodie Kollmann and Luke Hampshire both losing to Waikeries Shaun Steele and Ben Haynes the match came down to Tom Waterson against Cobdoglas Sam Butterworth. Tom had to win 9-3 for a win or 9-4 a draw but his experience and solid shot placement had a 9-1 result thereby giving the Waikerie team victory by a mere 3 games!! Division 2 had Cobdogla the favourites to defeat Loxton Silver. With a 4-2 lead after the doubles the Cobdogla side only had to share the singles to win but were too solid and won 3 of the men and 1 of the women to take the match 8-4. Ben Rogers completed what has been a great season for him with a 9-2 win over Scott Gillett and Courtney Kollmann was also impressive in winning 7-5 over Laura Zdanawicz 7-5. Narelle Burgmeyer from Loxton also had a great year and finished with a comfortable 6-2 win over Samantha Pearn. Riley Battams had a 9-4 win over Corey Knoblach from Cobdogla but father tom and Luke Hale were solid at 3rd and 2nd singles to both win 9-5. Division 3 - what can you say!! The Moorook team lost 8-0 two weeks ago and incredibly came back to WIN 5-3 in the Grand Final. The teams were 2 all after the doubles but Moorook through Daryl Hill, Brett Walkington and Kelly Leigh won their 3 singles with only Peter Kollmann winning 7-5 over Alan Smith to have Cobdoglas only singles result. The match could easily have been a different result as only 6 games separated the teams at the end of play. Congratulations again to the Waikerie TC for a great day and arranging first class weather!!
11.01.2022 Good to see a number of Riverland juniors at Foundation Cup training last Sunday, with a number of apologies as well. See you at the next one....should be packed.
10.01.2022 Congratulations to Julie Day on gaining selection on the Tennis SA Board as Country Director. All Riverland clubs should be delighted with her appointment.
10.01.2022 Hi all, tennis restarts next week (29th) with the first 4 matches under lights. Remember it is a 6.30 start with D1 at Barmera and D2 and D3 at Berri. The first name teams are considered the home team and must supply balls for the match. The "new" results system is slowly working better so have a look.
10.01.2022 SENIOR SCORES: The preliminary finals were played on Saturday at the Loxton courts. The 3 matches went the way most would have predicted with wins to Waikerie the Silver side from Loxton and Moorook.... In division 1 Waikerie won 5 of the 6 doubles to take an almost unbeatable lead into the singles. However a great win to Shenae Rucioch over Penny Kroehn 6-1 gave the Renmark some hope. Shenae played very well keeping the ball deep and hitting the sidelines regularly to keep the strong hitting Penny off balance for the majority of the match. Further wins to Romana Luethkke and John Van der Hoek saw the scores get much closer however the very strong Waikerie men, Troy Lehmann, Tom Waterson and Ben Haynes dominated the top 3 singles winning comfortably. This provides for a very interesting grand final next week with Waikerie a good chance of upsetting the top team Cobdogla. Guess - Waikerie 6 ALL or 7-5. Division 2 saw the Loxton Silver up against the Loxton Gold side. The gold side were coming off a great win against the Berri team and got off to a good start winning 4 of the 6 doubles. An excellent win to Callan Wall over Tom Graetz and wins to Scott Gillett, Justin Lane, Narelle Burgmeyer and Laura Zdanowicz saw the Silver over the line 7-5 and by 7 games. Whilst this was a good win they might find the Cobby men a tougher competition next week. With the Loxton girls in good form the womens sets could go Loxtons way thereby making the match close. Guess - Cobby 7-5 or 8-4. In division 3 it was a return to form (of sorts) for Moorook who won 5sets to 3. Things did not start well for Moorook however as the Paringa Swans won 3 of the 4 doubles. However Moorook came back with ALL 4 singles to win by 2 sets and 9 games. The closest single on the day was Daryl Hill defeating Nick Dillon 6-4. Next week Moorook will need to be at their best to change the 8-0 loss in the semi final against the very strong Cobby side. Guess - Cobby 5-3 or 6-2. This weeks matches are at the Waikerie courts. Full catering will be available from 9am onwards (Juniors GFs starting at 9am). Senior Matches to start at 1.30 All teams to bring afternoon tea All teams to supply 8 HARDCOURT balls. Good luck to all
09.01.2022 Correction. Henry and Campbell Dring were runners up in the 11 Doubles in Gawler.
08.01.2022 Terrific first day with the Tennis SA State Academy Squad 12-14 yrs. Great experience for our youngsters and hopefully our visitors. The Academy players are in the Riverland preparing for the grass court nationals in Perth. Training and matches continue tomorrow.
06.01.2022 Hi all, Senior finals begin next Saturday. It is the first time that the seniors have used the 2 week finals system - no preliminary final. Division 1 will be Renmark v Barmera and Cobdogla v Berri. Division 2 will see Loxton v Renmark Gold and Waikerie v Berri. In Division 3 it is Moorook v Paringa Dogs and Paringa Swans v Loxton. All the matches are at the Renmark Tennis Club for a 1.30pm start.
06.01.2022 Unfortunately the programme is still having major problems and the results, although now in the system, cannot be viewed on line. I have been assured that this should be ok by the end of the week. For your info in D1 Cobby D Berri 12-0, Barmera d Loxton Silver 7-5 and Renmark d Loxton Gold 8-4. In D2 Berri red 9 d Berri Blue 3, Cobby 6-70 d Loxton 6-67 and Renmark 6-54 d Waikerie 6-52. In D3 Berri 6 d Cobby 2, Moorook 8 d Loxton 0 and Paringa Swans 6 d Paringa Red Dogs 2. The way of viewing the results when it does come online has also changed and the old online address of RESULTS VAULT" is no longer being used.
