17.01.2022 This week marks the 10th anniversary of the Queensland floods in 2011. From city-wide flooding to a recent lockdown prompted by the global pandemic, there is not much Riverlife can't withstand. Even the #heritagelisted premises of Riverlife which once served as a wharf for the Queensland Marine Defense Force went through various site alterations and a fire that destroyed naval store no. 1 (seen in the black and white photo). The naval store no. 2 has stayed intact since 1888 - when the comparison photo was taken - and continues to be an iconic and integral part of Riverlife and the Brisbane riverscape!

16.01.2022 Meet Pauline, the fearless go-getter we had the pleasure of taking on a twilight abseil adventure Saturday afternoon! Just days before her open-heart surgery at the Prince Charles Hospital she decided to do something that has always been on her bucket-list - Abseiling! Pauline was determined to fit in an abseil between her holiday plans, organising when to see and visit her family across the state, and visits to and from the hospital. Pauline explained to the abseiling group... she had never been scared of things such as spiders, snakes or sharks, but the feeling of fear she felt from being on the edge of the cliffs, taking that first step off, was enough to know she wanted to come back and do it again! She is what we call a true adventure junkie and we can't wait to see her again! Since the abseil her updated bucket-list is being driven around a race track by a professional driver; fly in a tiger moth aircraft; and to be a passenger in a motorbike sidecar.
