24.01.2022 SUSPENSION OF TRADING: The River Life team wishes to advise that we will suspend trading for the next few weeks to resolve issues with the relevant agencies related to the expansion of our services, including kayak hire and provision of outdoor activity programs for schools and local community groups. We would like to thank our fabulous customers for all of the support and encouragement that we have received as we work to establish the business as a viable, long-term service... for the community. Also, congratulations to the winners of our Big Free Coffee Challenge over the Australia Day long weekend! Stay tuned for further updates.

14.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT OF TEMPORARY CLOSURE: As summer starts to wind down we have made the decision to not re-open our riverside outdoor cafe and hire services again this year. We have thoroughly enjoyed meeting and serving so many wonderful and loyal customers in our first summer. At all times we have strived to put a smile on our customers’ faces, providing good value with a sense of community, in a way which is in harmony with the local environment. Most of all, it has been great... fun! Based on the data we have collected about users of the precinct since October, and feedback from customers, we have confirmed that there is widespread support for services like ours in the Patterson River precinct. We are determined to offer even better services in future, which requires us to change the commercial arrangements and upgrade our trailer to suit the needs of an expanded business. Stay tuned for updates - we’ll let you know as soon as we are able to re-open, offering a broader range of services to local residents and visitors to our hidden gem of an area. (A special shout out to all of you supportive people who took time to post reviews about our services - we appreciate you spreading the word very much...!) 12.01.2022 We are so thrilled with the feedback about our recent relaunch with Settle by the River that we are planning to make it a special Australia Day holiday by the river. Stay tuned for details of our afternoon of live accoustic music down by the river on January 26th from 11.30am Live music, gourmet BBQ all afternoon, drinks, plus the regular outdoor cafe menu, activities and more...... Watch this space for details.

10.01.2022 UPDATE: The long wait is almost over! We hope you remember us and our outdoor cafe and hire services. If you follow us you may also know that the River Life team has been waiting on a new management plan for the lower Patterson River precinct, which is to be overseen by Dept. of Land, Water & Planning (DELWP). Good news! We know that the delays have been frustrating and we have sorely missed the daily banter and the great fun we had serving our customers. But we now can... expect to be able to let you know for sure over the next 2-3 months whether and when the business can resume trading, hopefully in an exciting new format. Offering services and employment through small business has never been more important - and with your support we can do our bit for the community - including all our brave local small business suppliers that are struggling now through tough times. So please help us by spreading the word with a share if you feel inclined. We really appreciate your patience, support and as always your comments/feedback helps us greatly. Please keep in touch. From December 3, join Tanya from local Practicing Yoga Studio each Tuesday and Thursday at 7am sharp, weather permitting, for some rise and shine morning yoga.... Bring your own yoga mat and a towel and meet on the lawn near our new food/coffee van, Settle by the River, riverside at the end of Tennyson Street, Carrum. Arrive 10 minutes beforehand to pay and get ready ($10 per session cash and credit cards accepted). Select a date from the list of events scheduled on the page @PracticingYogaByTheRiver (see below). We are working hard to be ready to delight you with the simplicity of being able to just settle by the river and treat yourself to something nice, or try your hand at something fun, like bocce or quoits on the lawn....
