We continue to build a strong, viable organisation that reflects Participant needs, Carer’s perspective and increases the scope and reach of our activities and enhances the independence of Participants. 17.01.2022 This is my brother Callum. His NDIS funding has been cut by the Morrison Government. My mum informed those responsible that part of Callum’s package was unspent... due simply to services temporarily not being available (due to no fault of our family). Let’s be clear, the $4.6 billion underspend on the NDIS is because the Federal Government have tightened the taps for vulnerable people with a disability who are desperately waiting for the support they need! My brother, like others, isn’t asking for a lot. He wants a job, to move out of home and to live independently. Unlike many families, Callum has a sister who is a State Member of Parliament and a Mum who has worked In the Public Service. We understand how to navigate the complicated system. I’m speaking out because most families don’t have that same privilege. If you know someone waiting for the NDIS or who’s funding has been cut, please let me know.
