20.01.2022 When you get Bec to step up the camera

10.01.2022 It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

09.01.2022 Looking forward to our first podcast chat with Ross Lavender today. Ross has lived in and around the Yeronga, Fairfield, Annerley area since he was born. His mum worked at The Junction from the 1980’s until her retirement in the 2000s. She organised the Christmas parties there until around the 1990’s. For awhile Ross lived next door to what was once the Tickles Warehouse in Fairfield. Which is rather an interesting story also, with connections to Jack the slasher food barns.... Ross remember’s when the 7/11 was a little further down the road. He also worked in Loot Homewares (I guess that’s now Dollars Sense) at Fairfield Gardens Shopping Centre. Ross and his brother were the local BMX kids and enjoyed riding around on their BMX’s exploring the area and building BMX jumps on the Brisbane Corso. They also helped teenagers to channel their energy into learning BMX tricks and staying away drugs and alcohol. Ross’s passion is BMX’s and has been involved in the BMX scene since 1988, being a judge and organising BMX events. He is also a BMX freestyle historian, which was once a passion project but now a business (started during Covid6). You can check out Ross’s website at http://www.unscenehistory.com Or follow Ross on Facebook/Instagram Unscene: A History of Australian Freestyle Comment any questions you want us to ask Ross
