20.01.2022 Guzmania monostachia is a species guzmania. The flower is only short-lived, but it pups well and it looks great as a clump.

19.01.2022 Presentation of your plants is important. These are the before and after of preparing plants for sale or display. Pull off all the dead leaves, wash out the centre and flower, repot ensuring the plant is in centre of the pot. Now your plant looks fab and nothing like the plant you started with.

We will be taking a 2 month break to catch up on potting and many other jobs, so the nursery will be closed on weekends until the beginning of March. 18.01.2022 Wallisia cyanae Paradise enjoying our current warm winter days. Tried it as an epiphyte and it really is enjoying it. Has been on this tree over 5 years.

05.01.2022 We find that Tillandsias grow much faster tied in a tree. They enjoy the wind and rain and leaf litter. They form large clumps in a few years. Here are some pics of trees in our yard.

03.01.2022 If ever there was a plant that was true to name it is this one. Aechmea distichantha is spectacular when in bloom but its leaves certainly do stick you. It has a lethal spike on its tip which got me twice when I took this photo.
