23.01.2022 COVID-19 Update 26 March 2020 As a ministry centre, Riverside Convention Centre REMAINS OPEN to provide emergency accommodation for Seventh-day Adventist Church members as well as to members of the public who meet the essential services requirements of our Council permit, and current restrictions of the Public Health Directives as issued by Queensland Health. Our Council permit allows us to accommodate guests traveling for religious and educational purposes, as well as one...-off events and special needs. A large percentage of our guests here are special needs, as they are using the Townsville hospital, local medical facilities, or require crisis accommodation. We are also positioned to assist traveling homeschooling families who find themselves with nowhere to go during this time. For the coming weeks and months our guests are required to practice social-distancing and hygiene measures to ensure the safety of themselves and other guests. Guests who do not comply with these government directives will be asked to vacate. The following measures have also been put in place: Due to the government specifications on people per square metreage the office will no longer be open for guests to enter. Our office manager will still be in the office during regular office hours, however the office will operate as a kiosk. Where possible, all payments are to be made online Warning signs are available for guests who are immune-compromised to place at the front of their accommodation Caravans will be asked to be self-contained and refrain from unnecessary use of the amenities blocks Camping and caravan sites will be allocated a 2 site space or more between them and the next guest Campers and Cabin guests will be allocated specific toilets/showers/sinks in the amenities blocks to reduce the contact between guests Accommodation keys will only be available from the key safe at the office entry Our cleaning regime and frequency has been increased While this is what we currently offer, the situation is changing daily and more changes may need to be implemented. We will continue to follow and implement Government and management directives.
