25.01.2022 Today is the 1st of August, which is also known as the horses birthday . So we would like to wish all of our wonderful horses and ponies a happy birthday. We appreciate and love them all so much! Join us in wishing them a Happy Birthday by commenting a picture of your favorite horse or pony!

24.01.2022 This photo is of Riverside’s total pony population. We have so many tiny riders who would love the chance to learn to ride on a pony but special ponies are so loved by their owners pony that they are seldom sold. Do you have one or more much loved ponies languishing in your paddocks which you would be prepared to free lease to Riverside? Because of the high costs of keeping horses and ponies Riverside gives school ponies free agistment and hay but asks if their owne...rs will please continue to give them regular TLC and pay for their hard feed, farrier, rugs, tack, dental care and veterinary expenses. We are happy for you to also ride them occasionally on Sundays. If family members are still using the pony regularly they would need to pay agistment to board at Riverside in which case the rider would receive an $11 discount off lessons and an additional $10 off agistment for every paid lesson for which the pony is used. Riverside would want at least a year’s lease agreement to be signed by all parties after the pony has been here for at least two week’s free trial. This trial is to make sure he or she is happy at Riverside and safe enough to be used in a riding school. 23.01.2022 It looks like this storm is also going to stick to the Eastern side of the Redbank Reach of the Brisbane River like the two that went past late thismorning. These two photos were taken looking south from my bedroom window. The Brisbane River is behind the row of trees growing on the levee bank running along the LHS of the photo. Note the dark section on the LHS where it’s pouring rain and the clear sky due south of us. This is the infamous Moggill Dome which keeps our r...ainfall much lower than the surrounding areas. Somehow this photo of the moon rising over the Brisbane River seems appropriate for this year I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has booked in for private lessons over the last two weeks. Thank you also for being aware of and careful to maintain social distancing. Riverside will be open again on Tuesday the 14th and we will once again be offering our junior riders half hour or full private lessons. 21.01.2022 Thank you everyone for taking such care with your social distancing at Riverside and for making it possible for us to keep operating by changing to half-hour as well as full private lessons. This morning Bruce and I went for a ride out and on the way home the horses were allowed some grass time. The green mule is being driven up the hill by Holly who had just finished feeding the Old Boys. The third photo is of Jennys house with lush green grass in Shanes paddocks. 21.01.2022 Good morning from Riverside. We are still open and giving private lessons. Adults have full lessons for $99 and school aged children have the choice of half hour lessons for $88 or full lessons.(3/4 of an hour). These lessons can be an arena lesson or a trail ride. 20.01.2022 This years One Day Event was a success! They had to ride a dressage test, show jumping round and cross country course. All the riders did an amazing job! Congratulations to Lizzie & Harry for coming first for the juniors, followed closely by Gaby & Rocket, and to Belinda & Sydney who took out first place for the seniors with Sarah & Jai coming in close second. We are so proud of how well everyone rode and look forward to next One Day Event!... Special thanks to Aeq Photos for capturing these awesome shots!

Thank you Jenny for this opportunity, we know all the riders benefited greatly from it! Then the riders were taken through some flatwork exercises by coaches Hayley & Jo focusing on improving rhythm and the basic stop, go & turn aids.

18.01.2022 A beautiful Autumn day, but winter is coming Our Central paddock has been spelling for two months so I have asked Izzy to move Bandit, Panda, Jia, Song and Exxy back into it thismorning so they can eat the grass before we get our first frost. Frost dramatically reduces the nutritional value of pastures so the horses need more hay in winter. Riverside is still open and giving private lessons ($99) for adult riders and half hour ($88), or full private lessons for school a...ge children. 16.01.2022 It is going to be over 40 again today so Banjo, Freckles and Dalton have been given their favourite Sunday job - mowing the green grass in my garden and pullin the yummy glycema creepers out of my shrubs. Matrix and Harley are all on mowing duty outside our kitchen and O have also set up a sprinkler so Harley can keep his grass belly cool Best wishes, Liz White

12.01.2022 Today was the first day back to group lessons! All the riders and horses were thrilled to be riding together again. While we have returned to group lessons for regular riders, its still very important to keep social distancing and maintain good hand hygiene. Thank you to all the parents and pupils for hanging in there with us while we work through these tough times. Keep safe!

11.01.2022 It’s with a very heavy heart that we share with you this news. Over the weekend we had an unexpected good bye to our super special little pony, Panny. Panny was Libby’s childhood pony, who won everything there was to win in the show ring, he came to Riverside a few years ago, and has been teaching riders the fine art of riding an educated pony since. Panny will be sorely missed by us all, and we are so lucky to have had the opportunity to love him. Rest in Paradise little Pan

10.01.2022 Firstly we had enough drizzle to create this stunning rainbow and now we are receiving a heavier shower of rain which is exciting our white cockatoos I am so excited that so many Australians are installing the COVIDSafe app in their phones. It will not only make it easier to track contacts but should also make us more aware of the need for social distancing. 10.01.2022 Riverside Update We would just like to remind all of our Riverside clients that we have a no dog policy at Riverside! We have our own dogs that live on the property so in an effort to maintain their safety and the biosecurity of the property, we ask that you please don't bring your own dogs to Riverside. Dogs can also be a hazard around horses and in lessons if they are unfamiliar in this environment In addition to this, we also ask that you do not bring dogs and leave them in the car for the same reason, as well as the current hot weather! Thanks for your understanding!

09.01.2022 COVID 19 Update Following the new government outlines, we have to cancel all group lessons and our Easter Break Day Camps. We are currently looking into replacing the group lessons with half hour private lessons instead. If this is something that interests you, please let us know on 0478 646 354... If you have paid for a Day Camp you will be issued with a voucher for the future camp days we hold. If you can come in at your lesson time, and leave straight after, and refrain from bringing any extra people, or they can stay in the car, that would be much appreciated. All of the safety and hygiene measures need to be adhered to accordingly, and social distancing must be kept to at all times. We have hand wash and sanitizer to use as you come in and as you leave. Thank you for your understanding in this difficult time. Riverside Team

08.01.2022 COVID-19 update We are still open for lessons! We have however made major adjustments to our lessons to meet recommendations made by the government! Please note: SADDLE CLUB HAS BEEN CANCELLED ... We now ask that you limit your time spent at Riverside, by arriving shortly before your lesson and leaving directly after. The riverside staff will have your horse saddled before your lesson and will put your horse away afterwards. We also ask that you limit your visitors when attending Riverside and ask that parents drop their children off and pick them up afterwards. In addition to this, we would appreciate that if you need to make a payment that you pay over the phone or through bank transfer. The staff are able to provide details. In order to comply with the 10 people rule, we can no longer accept helpers. In addition to this, we ask that parents do not come into the reception area. If you would like to watch the lesson, please observe social distancing and return to your car after the lesson. If you would prefer to cancel your lesson we completely understand, please dont hesitate to contact us and we will do our best to assist you. We are hoping that we can run the riding school in this way and remain open to clients, please be patient as we navigate this difficult time!

07.01.2022 Two weekends ago a team of Riverside horses, riders and staff took part in the Moggill T-shirt Hack Day. We are very proud of how professional all the riders looked out in the rings and how well behaved all our horses were. Everyone came home with ribbons around necks and the biggest smiles! 03.01.2022 Everyone who comes regularly for lessons at Riverside knows the handsome Appaloosa called, Jess. Not all of you may know that Jess comes with Maree who is his very special owner , best friend and carer. Maree has not been able to ride Jess since his arrival at Riverside because of a sore leg. Her doctors gave her the all clear to ride again this week. It was hard to tell whether Maree or Jess was the one who was most excited about this Maree riding Jess... Best wishes, Liz
