20.01.2022 The 1500xs started from a jumbled pile of parts found in a barn. Was an absolute rebuild and restore right down to every last nut, bolt and washer. The original Dancraft is pictured, will post soon as able. Will be parting out the old 140 V4 Johnno.

14.01.2022 Big Run, surprising speed and revs, 1970 mercury 135 tower of power resto. Bullet has no plank, just a v bottom....70mph 6400 rpm.

Bit of an excersize to get it done and resurrected from 50 odd year old pa...rts...but, thats the nature of the beast...Restoring these old donks is lots of pain, trouble and expense. Helps to have some knowhow and tools not to mention determination and lots bloody madness! See more

14.01.2022 This 115hp "black max era" Merc spent more than 6 years as a tub of parts with a blown piston.. Entire engine was stripped down part by part and rebuilt to its former glory..

12.01.2022 Each Carby of the 1350 is choked up with crud...following photos show the main jet which are all blocked and the fuel filter screens all caked up with shit. Wil...l attempt to clear the galleries with pressure cleaner, overhaul the whole lot of the fuel system, try reinstate function...Not enuf time to Delve into side plates and water jacket cover at this stage, have to take a punt on lots of things. Would like to overhaul powerhead completely later. Try to get it done for the run.....Jeff is pitching in tomorrow to buff the bullet, we can only try......... See more

11.01.2022 Hi there to all, today was the day Tony and I spent reasembling the 115hp Merc. Here are some photos of the day. Tony is merticulous in his work and passionate about the inline 6. Tony was trained by Mercury and is a certified Merc mechanic.

09.01.2022 Hi there 10 Days to go and I spent a day with Tony preparing the Bullet to hit the water and go down the Macleay River Kempsey. Some photos of our days work.

09.01.2022 Quick tidy up turns into Monolithic RESSURECTION. Here are just a few photos of the poor old 1350 merc.. fuel pumps are all full of crud and rusted valves. Some... dope had changed the trigger in the distributor and set the belt driven pulley up out two whole teeth...umm 40 degrees worth, ...motor couldnt start or run, maybe an occasional cough. Running out of time. Still need to build a gearbox up from scratch. Will have to strip the carbs after seeing what is in the fuel pumps. Need rummage up couple trim rams and set of hoses from the cemetery shed. Starting to feel like time will be too short. Have to fix other group members problems so they are ready for the run. See what transpires....., Think I got more chance of resurrecting Lazarus See more

05.01.2022 Straight 6 engine strip down - Engines that are 40 - 50 years old take a little more time and patience, our years of racing these early engines coupled with initial training and support direct with Mercury Marine in the early days, means we never brake a bolt..

05.01.2022 Picture below shows corroded and dissintegrated wires on charge stator. Doesnt just happen to mercuty engines, problem with old motors of all kinds.....

02.01.2022 Another relic being restored to its former glory.. Top piston melted and disintegrated, it was put together previously without a diaphram in top fuel pump....needless to say, "no fuel, no lube" bore is fine though as rings stayed intact in lower part of the piston. Not one bolt broke taking this apart, Its a testimonial to the product of 55 years. At Riverside Marine we know what to do and how to do it.. please share and like our page..

01.01.2022 Did I mention I did my factory training with Mercury...both Outboard and Sterndrives...Certified outboard tech as well. This Miami Vice style boat was a big job. 3 big blocks in engine bay.
