Engaged by Swimming Victoria, I ...was asked to fast-track a literature review on the relationship between Swimming Pools and COVID 19. With the ever-changing COVID-19 environment, I believe it is the first of it’s kind in Australia. Unfortunately, Swimming Pools and their operations are often a misunderstood environment. 22.01.2022 Exciting times await - Daniel Andrews announcements today means we are back and looking forward to accommodating you, but to reflect on the last 12 weeks - Despite the challenges we have faced financially and will face in the future due to COVID 19 - we need to remember the positives that have come out of being 'locked in/shutdown' - and to us its been the unforgettable time we have been able to spend with our children. This year our youngest ventured off to preps, a lar...ge part of our parenting duties felt complete, school will now have them for the most part of a day or so we thought, never could we have imagined that no less than 10 weeks later all 4 children would be home permanently without the distraction of extra-curricular activities, this including parents that own a 24 hour 7 day a week motel. Like most, we have had our fair share of challenges and although forced upon us due to COVID 19 and having to shut our doors, our family business, sole income; we will be forever grateful for this time together as a family and for our children. We will never grow tired of hearing 'remember that time we did homeschooling & mum was our teacher' or 'that time we dyed our hair blue' or that time we rode our bikes around town everyday' or 'that time we went late night swimming'. To our children - to all the children out there that have had to learn to cope in these times along side parents, carers, missing out on sports, friends, grandparents etc - we thank you all, you are our little people who make us whole! IT IS TIME THOUGH - with schools, shops, hotels opening, travel bans being lifted and overnight stays welcomed as of June 1st, we breathe a sigh of relief and are ready for business as usual! All we can ask is that you travel local, support local, continue enjoying family time but with a change of scenery, local Ocean Grove businesses need you, we need you and we hope to see you very soon!!
