21.01.2022 And like that, we’re starting 2021 on a bit of a somber note. It was tough to see our friends who travelled to us have to leave far too quickly. And of cour...se, thinking of our NSW operators, they are now facing a difficult start to the year. If you haven’t booked your summer holiday yet and are a border resident, now might be the time to support Moama business and tourism operators. This is hurting them profoundly and we need to rally around them with all the love and support we can muster. 07.01.2022 VISITING THE MURRAY REGION THIS HOLIDAY SEASON The Murray Region is open for business and looks forward to hosting visitors this holiday season. If you are intending to travel to New South Wales border towns and destinations during your stay in the region, you will need to apply for and receive a valid permit to re-enter Victoria. The permit is valid for fourteen days from the date of entry into Victoria and can be used multiple times. It should take less than 5 minutes to... process a permit application. Travel delays are expected on re-entering Victoria, so please plan ahead. As the Murray River is part of New South Wales, if you are staying on a houseboat, travelling on a paddle steamer or even water-skiing on the river, you will also require a permit. However, the permit is valid for fourteen days and can be used multiple times. When you’re travelling, be COVIDSafe and carry a fitted face mask with you at all times. Wearing a face mask is mandatory on public transport, while in taxis or ride share vehicles, or when going to large retail venues, including shopping centres, supermarkets and department stores. Wearing a face mask is strongly recommended indoors and outdoors when you can’t keep 1.5 metres distance from other people. If you, or anyone you are travelling with, have any signs of coronavirus (COVID-19), no matter how mild: get tested at once stay in your accommodation and wait for your results.
