23.01.2022 With the introduction of mandatory masks indoors it is important to put masks on and off safely, Dr Crockett and Nurse Shelley show you how. Please remember to bring a mask to the Practice when visiting. https://www.cdc.gov//prevent-get/about-face-coverings.html

21.01.2022 Preparing before you travel doesn't always include sunscreen or snow boots. Ensuring you have sufficient medication, and a summary of your medical history will assist in the event you require medical care away from your GP. We always suggest booking in with your GP 2 to 3 weeks prior to you going away to ensure you have everything you need. Most importantly, be COVID wise & limit unnecessary travel.

19.01.2022 Many children feel anxious and this can cause distress to the child and those around them. Macquarie University runs programs to help children from 3 to 17 cope with anxiety. Some of these programs are online and low cost. Feeling anxious is very unpleasant and effective treatment is available for everyone. Feel free to speak with your GP if you have questions.

15.01.2022 We are sure that many parents can identify with this one!

14.01.2022 Remembrance Day The origins of Remembrance Day History... After accepting the terms presented by General Foch of the French Army, the Germans signed an armistice bringing an end to the First World War. The armistice came into effect at 11 am on 11 November 1918. In Australia and other allied countries, including New Zealand, Canada and the United States, 11 november became known as armistice Day a day to remember those who died in the First World War. After the Second World War, the Australian Government agreed to the United Kingdom’s proposal that armistice Day be renamed Remembrance Day to commemorate those who were killed in both World Wars. Today the loss of Australian lives from all wars, conflicts and peace operations is commemorated on Remembrance Day. Riverstone Family Medical Practice thank all our Department of Veterans Affairs patients & their families for their service to our country. We will be participating in the 1 minute of silence at 11am.

13.01.2022 During the pandemic we know some of us have put on a few extra kilos. Eating healthy keeps our bodies working well and helps prevent diseases such as type 2 diabetes, cancer and cardiovascular disease. Our nursing team found a website which is easy to follow, and has budget friendly recipes. https://openyourworld.sa.gov.au/stay-active-and/eating-well

13.01.2022 When visiting our practice we ask all patients and visitors to continue to wear a mask. This requirement will continue until we have a vaccine. We prefer it if you bring your own, however if you don't have one or forget, we are happy to provide you one. Please remember to wear your mask the right way. Our lovely model in the attached photo shows how some people present to our reception.
