He was the Builders' Labourers Federation leader and member of Australian Communist Party member, and died aged 90. He played rugby league for Parramatta in 1950 then in 1955 accepted the position as Captain/Coach of the Riverstone A grade team. They won the grand final 19-14 against Richmond, after coming back from half time 11-0. Jack is pictured below, centre middle row. Rest In Peace Jack.

03.01.2022 IDEAS FOR A MURAL IN THE TOWN? In 2019 the local Chamber of Commerce came up with a Report called "Riverstone in Review". Two of the ideas incorporated into the report were to improve connectivity with the footpaths and streetscapes and to make Riverstone a Destination. The Chamber is working with various levels of Government to achieve these aims, plus others such as improving the roads and transport options in the area. In response to the Report, Blacktown Council has commi...ssioned two artists, Jan Cleveringa and Roslind Stanley to create a mural at Marketown Lane Riverstone. Although the project has a tight time frame, the artists are keen to receive ideas and input from the local community and former residents. The murals will be painted onto boards so that they can be moved in the future if necessary. If you have any ideas or would like to make some suggestions, please see some of the questions below that they have put forward as a guide. If you would like to put forward some feedback you can post it below this post or send to our email address at [email protected] and we will forward it to the artists.
