14.01.2022 For 30+ years, this building has been owned and occupied by the Brandsma’s. However, the deli has been so much more than just a store to so many people in it’s time. This store has seen deli discos, hot chooks, school lunches, DVDs, mixed lolly bags, world class hotdogs, plenty of coke memorabilia and a countless amount of red tins It has also seen, the affects of tragedy - when a fire forced us to banned together and rebuild. A complete rebirth. It’s been open through f...ires, floods, power outages, heat waves, every day of the year (except for Christmas) For the township and surrounds of Riverton, the deli has been a go to for smoko, where you sneak off for a sausage roll and a coke during lunch. A place you meet before footy training - and sometimes after. The perfect hangover cure. The perfect spot to send the kids with $5 for some peace and quiet and most importantly where you go for the PERFECT SALAD ROLL!!! Behind that door, is a house. A home where Robert and Alison raised their two gorgeous girls Tali and Danielle. A house that has seen so much love, laughter and joy. Birthday dinners, Christmas parties, the welcoming of 5 beautiful grandchildren. The house that kept the deli running - through thick and thin. For myself - the deli is where I completed my work experience behind the scenes with Ali. It’s where I wrote notes on how to recreate Robbo’s salad roll. It is where I got to meet so many of you amazing customers, share your laughter or pain, whatever you needed that day. It is where I have grown, and where I have celebrated so much. As the doors close on the deli, I take this time to reflect and I am sure that Rob, Alison, Tali and Dani can agree with me when I say Thank You. Thank You to the staff, current and previous. Thank You to Riverton And Surrounding Community. Thank you for your support, thank you for the memories and being there right until the very end. This is the end of an era. Rob and Ali, enjoy this new chapter. Enjoy your family, enjoy your block. Rob, enjoy as many red tins and days of golf as you can - your hours are yours now. Alison, enjoy your horse, your garden and the people who surround you. You have both put your heart and soul into the Riverton Deli for so bloody long. We thank you. We love you.
