04.01.2022 Doing a rewire just now and came across this gem - a standard powerpoint wired in 1mm twin. I had found a lot of dangerous cabling done previously which had been added to existing cloth cabling in split-metal conduit in this place, so it's currently getting a full rewire. It may not look like much to the average eye but this was also "protected" by a 20A fuse. No RCD (protection against electric shock) means if you plugged a faulty ANYTHING (appliance, light etc) into this th...en death would be almost certain - your body will just be another load on the circuit and you will be cooked. Not to mention potentially burning your house down due to improperly sized cabling + circuit protection.
