Afterpay provides consumers flexibility and convenience. It works by allowing consumers to buy what they want today, and paying for it in four equal instalments, interest-free, at no additional charge. So, how does Afterpay make money? Afterpay makes money by charging a commission to retailers on sales generated through the service. Experts suggest caution when using Afterpay, with many concerned that consumers may develop unhealthy spending habits, due to the nature of the service, allowing consumers to delay payments.
