21.01.2022 Wed like to congratulate our esteemed Board Director, Ray Finn OAM who recently received an Order of Australia for his dedication and hard work to our charity over the past 27 years. Ray was on the board that brought to life our original 18 room house at Westmead in 1995. In 2008, he became the Chair of our Building Love Committee, raising over $40m for our current 60 room House. He has held numerous positions over the years and also been the driving force behind our annu...al golf day for 21 years, raising over $1million. This is just a snippet of his contribution. Last year Pip and her partner Charlie welcomed Reuben and twin brother Willow. 5 months later, in November, they learnt Reuben would need open heart surgery Dropping everything, they flew all the way from the opal mining town of Andamooka South Australia, to stay with us in Westmead, for 31 long nights. By awarding one-off grants of up to $5,000 to deserving young people, were giving them the chance to get their schooling or career back on track. Applications close on 30th November each year... Sisters like Vanessa and Georgina are doing exactly that! These two incredible girls have taken on the challenge of a 'Dri-Triathlon'. This Sunday, the sisters will row 5000m, followed by 750 bodyweight reps, finishing with a 12.5km run for time, all in efforts to raise funds for sick kids and their families! Amazing right?!... His incredible running and fundraising efforts each year make an everlasting difference for seriously ill children and their families. For the past 3 years John has pushed himself with numerous runs to raise funds for the Nepean Family Room. 08.01.2022 Meet our newest front desk mascot - Barry! Eva Barry called the House her home for the first 220 days of her life. Eva was born with Hypoplastic left heart, hip, and kidney issues and is also deaf. "While it was a very emotional roller-coaster from the beginning, Eva had heart surgery at 2 days old, the house has been my saviour" Jemma, mum of Eva. ... Congratulations to Molly Croft who has today been announced as one of 12 exceptional young people chosen to join the NSW Governments Youth Advisory Council. You may remember Molly lived with us for over 292 nights, during her treatment for cancer a couple of years ago. She and her family, went on to pay it forward through Mollys Mission helping to raise a cool... $180k for our House, and Molly was named Dubbo Young Citizen of the Year during the 2020 Australia Day Awards. 04.01.2022 4 year old Aria is a big sister to twin 5 month old girls Vera and Ivy. Unfortunately baby Ivy required heart surgery after birth. With their home more than 180km from Westmead, this family of 5 stayed with us for 81 nights so they could remain together and close to Ivys medical care, until she was well enough to return home. Now settling back into life in the NSW Hunter Region, Mum Kristy told us that being able to stay at Ronald McDonald House, "Meant everything...when things are hard, its just a lovely place to be".

This week they participated in our school holiday program showing their artistic flair in a clay portraits workshop.
