24.01.2022 Another #FeelGoodFriday, another fairy garden post! The highlight for our children was the fairy garden in which Fairy Doyle lived, said mum Erin. After writing a letter, the children also received gifts from Fairy Doyle at our door. They were beside themselves, and we couldn’t wipe the smiles off their faces. ... Read more about Mia and Allie (pictured here with the infamous Fairy Doyle), their stay at our Townsville Ronald McDonald House supporting baby brother Flynn, and how their brave brother is doing now, on our Charity partner Queensland Country Bank's website: https://www.queenslandcountry.bank//baby-flynn-grows-stro/ #KeepingFamiliesClose

22.01.2022 NAIDOC Week celebrations are held across Australia each year to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities, but by Australians from all walks of life. The theme for 2020 is Always Was, Always Will Be, which recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. We are so proud and excited to celebrate NAIDOC Week with... our families, volunteers and supporters this week. #NAIDOC2020 #NAIDOCWeek #NAIDOC #KeepingFamiliesClose

19.01.2022 HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ADDIE! Today we had the honour of celebrating Addie’s second birthday with her and her family, as well as the friends she’s made during her stay at our Townsville Ronald McDonald House! Addie is staying with us while her baby brother Harry gets strong in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Townsville University Hospital. Being just steps away from his side mean that mum and dad can still throw Addie an incredible party, even when they are far from home. Happy birthday, sweet girl! #FeelGoodFriday #KeepingFamiliesClose

07.01.2022 Today was a very special day for us, as we celebrated NAIDOC week with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Group, who helped us unveil Acknowledgement of Country plaques. These plaques are proudly displayed in our Townsville Ronald McDonald House. We will also display them in our Ronald McDonald Family Room at Townsville University Hospital and our Ronald McDonald Family Retreat in Palm Cove. We were also delighted to welcome local Indigenous Artist and friend ...Linda Oliver back to our House. Linda developed our motif with us back in 2017, and it makes a proud feature on our new plaques! The unveiling of these plaques is just another way that we are demonstrating our commitment to diversity, cultural inclusion, and the practice of reconciliation. You can read more about our continued journey to prioritise cultural safety for all of our seriously ill children and their families in our Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan: http://bit.ly/2019RAPInnovate

05.01.2022 How sweet is this drawing that one of our Learning Program students, Ashton, drew of him and his tutor Stacey?! 02.01.2022 Let there be light! Our Townsville Ronald McDonald House truly lights up the night thanks to our friends at Elluminatelighting. Their amazing donation of lights means that our families' all-important journey to and from the hospital is well lit at all hours. This project wouldn't have been possible without the hard work of many people, including our Charity Ambassador Glenn Minty Mintern and the folks at Hannahbull Hydro Excavations & Locations and Townsville Mini Loads. Check out the full project thanks to our friend Kevin from Limitless Films at the link below (and watch out for a cameo from Charity Ambassador Kate Gaze from the JCU Townsville Fire!): https://youtu.be/YhbXq_rQthA #KeepingFamiliesClose
