13.01.2022 , This week we celebrate and recognise the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from across our region as part of NAIDOC week. This year, Tyrown Waigana, a Perth based artist and designer, has been named as this year’s winner of the prestigious National NAIDOC Poster Competition with his entry - .... The iconic NAIDOC poster has been celebrating and promoting NAIDOC Week since the late 1960s and rose to national prominence in the 1970s with the establishment of the Indigenous rights movement. You can already buy Silly Socks and Helping Hands at Macca’s, and on McHappy Day $2 from every Big Mac will go to RMHC and help us to keep seriously ill children and their families together. 07.01.2022 ' , : In February last year our little girl, Dawn, was born. We had a very easy, low-risk pregnancy. And initially, our beautiful daughter seemed completely healthy. Little did we know she had an underlying health condition that would make her start to life a little different. It's a condition that can't be fixed.... With the stress that came with Dawn’s condition, thinking about accommodation and food was far from our minds. , ’ . Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern NSW became our saviour. They opened their doors to us for a few short stays, and then in just two weeks found a permanent room in their house for us to treat as our home, just a short walk away from Dawn’s ward. 02.01.2022 . But for some families, like little Dawn’s, who faced the diagnosis of a rare condition when she was just days old, being together and at home for their first Christmas was an unknown. We were able to provide a home away from home for Dawn's family which meant they were able to get home sooner and enjoy their first Christmas with loved ones. Unfortunately, other families won't be so lucky.... The festival season doesn't wait for a seriously ill or injured child's treatment.
