02.01.2022 Students impacted by COVID-19 can apply for a Grant from RMIT The RMIT Student Hardship Assistance and Equity Scholarship funds have also been expanded to provide up to $10 million in immediate, additional support for students impacted by COVID-19. Two types of financial assistance are now available: Emergency Financial Grant: to help students impacted by job loss, ... housing insecurity or other financial matters associated with COVID-19. This is for non-tech expenses, like essential living costs, textbooks, accommodation, healthcare, or food. Technology Grant: to help students access essential equipment and continue studying remotely, including hardware, software, subscriptions, data and digital materials. 01.01.2022 Researchers from RMIT, Monash and Swinburne universities have achieved the worlds fastest internet data speed - enough to download 1000 HD movies in a split second - using a single optical chip. The team's new device, known as an optical micro-comb, creates a rainbow of infrared light allowing data to be transmitted on many frequencies of light at the same time, vastly increasing bandwidth.
