13.01.2022 The RMIT circular economy (CE) group, which includes Industrial Designs Associate Professor Karli Verghese and Dr Simon Lockrey, is advocating for more transformational change when looking to make our economy circular. The CE groups spokesperson Professor Usha Iyer-Raniga discusses an RMIT response to the State Governments position paper on CE below. This response is compiled from across the Schools of Design; Property and Construction Management; Business and Law; Globa...l Studies and Social Science; Fashion and Textiles; Engineering; and Science. Were doing CE now in all manner of teaching and industry facing research at RMIT, and its time for policy makers to catch up. This is more than recycling, its cross disciplinary innovation opportunities incarnate!! Design is central to that. The RMIT group is Usha Iyer-Raniga, Scott Valentine, Kevin Argus, Peter Mulherin, Karli Verghese, Sujeeva Setunge, Rebecca Leshinsky, Tyyab Maqsood, Mittul Vahanvati, Karen Wilson, Alan Pears, Peter Stasinopoulos, Jega Jegatheesan, Alan Lee, Ralph Horne, Jenny Underwood, and many others.
