12.01.2022 HOME SAFE We are so thankful these quick thinking sailors were wearing their life jackets and able to activate their EPIRB after their 9.7m trimaran was upturn...ed this afternoon west of Garden Island. They are now safe, well and most importantly going home to their families. This once again highlights the importance of having all of the correct saftey equipment onboard so rescuers, both in the air and on the water, can find you. Incredibly R100’s speed did not drop below 25kn during the trip from Fremantle, despite today’s atrocious conditions where gusts of over 35kn and 3.6m seas were recorded. Today’s incredible outcome was thanks to a true team effort with Western Australia Police Force coordinating the search from Water Police Base and Department of Fire and Emergency Services Rescue 651 who were first to spot the vessel from the air and guided R100 to the location.
