24.01.2022 Can you believe we are already at Term 3 school holidays!! The year has certainly sped up these past few months. Well it is that time of year again where we take our week off, so next week we will be closed from Tuesday the 29th September - Monday the 5th of October. We will have the phone off in that time but will turn it on periodically to check messages. Wow we are blown away!! For a small home business we feel very honored and excited to be recognised for the work we have done in growing our small business over the past 3 years. 20.01.2022 Due to the Telstra outage this morning customers are advised to turn their modem off for 5 minutes and then turn it back on. It is also advised that you restart any computers in that time.

20.01.2022 Wow what a crazy couple of weeks! Its been mad!! We are still doing what we can to help customers out with their computer needs without compromising their health and ours. We have been blown away by how great everyone has been and the local support has kept us very busy. We would be lying however if we said we weren't a little pooped. Extended school holidays and the extra workload getting everyone prepared for the uncertainty to come has mean't long days, so we have decided to take extra few days off over Easter to spend with the family. We will be closed from Wednesday the 8th of April and will be back in the workshop 9am on the 15th of April. 19.01.2022 End of financial year is fast approaching! These months are just flying by now. The last week of June is always a very busy time for us so we are getting in early to remind people that ideally orders would need to be in by Monday 24th of June for end of week delivery. We are also going to be closed briefly as our son has a big athletics competition in Townsville & needs to be there from the 23rd to the 29th of June. Due to the terrible timing, Rob has decided to fly home Tue...sday the 25th and will be in the workshop from 2pm on wards. Laura will be away from the workshop all week but will be working remotely so she can still place orders & reply to messages. While the workshop is closed Monday & half of Tuesday, we will still have our phone on and will be taking calls and bookings. 18.01.2022 Hi everyone, Just a courtesy post to let you know we will be closing the workshop early at 1pm tomorrow (Thursday). We very rarely post about our family life on our work page but i would like to take a minute to share why we are not always available or why the workshop is often closed in the afternoons. As quite a few of you may know we spend a lot of time travelling around the countryside for athletics which means that we are sometimes closed on a Friday or away during the... week. This year has been particularly hectic as I have been driving to Cairns 2 days a week for training and Rob has been manning the fort while i am out of the workshop. We feel very lucky to have a business that allows us this flexibility but also customers who are really understanding when we are not always available. Tomorrow our son fly's to Perth with his team mates to represent QLD at the All Schools Track and Field Championships in the 400m (sneaky pic attached ;-)). We are very excited as it's been a long term goal of his and he has worked extremely hard to get this far and although sometimes juggling our business and family commitments can get tricky, we wouldn't have it any other way. As we head in to one of our busiest months we are again grateful for another fantastic year and thankful to all our amazing customers. Next year we have a few changes happening which will mean, I will be in the workshop a lot more and Rob can focus on what he does best ;-) See more

We will be unavailable to do any on-site work in this time frame but we will have the work phone on us and will be checking it periodically. 18.01.2022 Support for Windows 7 ends on January 14, 2020. If you continue to use Windows 7 after support has ended your PC will still work, but it may become more vulnerable to security risks. Businesses are advised to upgrade before this date. We are fully booked up to Wednesday next week and will be prioritizing upgrades for business customers. We will be available for home users from the 6th of January and suggest giving us a call before we go on holidays to secure an appointment for next year.

18.01.2022 Christmas is just around the corner. It feels like its come out of nowhere this year! Early reminder that orders will need to be finalised a week before we close to guarantee delivery before Xmas. 17.01.2022 Rob and I would just like to say thank you to all of our new & existing customers for the patience and support you have shown over the past few months. It has been a crazy busy time for us and although sometimes stressful, we will never complain (well not too loudly ) about being busy, especially in these uncertain times. With such an increase in work, we are finding it harder to keep that line between work & family time, especially since we operate from home. Although its e...asy for us to appear available 24/7, we just need to remind everyone of our opening hours. Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm Saturday 10am-12pm - by appointment only. Sunday - Closed. I am usually in the workshop Monday to Friday but sometimes family commitments mean I have to pop out for 15 mins or so but I do try and leave a sign on the door. If you turn up outside these hours and haven't organised an after hours appointment, please do not knock on our front door, especially on a Sunday. Our work phone is turned off during our closed hours but you can always send us a FB message or email and we will respond when we can. Once again, thank you for supporting our small local business. Working for ourselves and from home we sometimes struggle to separate work time and down time. In a time where we are now advised to stay home and reduce contact with people, Rob feels it would be irresponsible to continue going out and about all over the Tablelands. He will still do callouts to businesses but we now ask that our home customers ring us before dropping computers off so we can maintain a safe practice for both us and our customers. 14.01.2022 Currently we are business as usual. It is hard seeing a lot of our local businesses closing their doors today. A lot of these people are customers and friends. Please make sure you support the ones who are able to keep their doors open. We are already seeing a huge price increase in the cost of the laptops and desktops we sell due to a crash with the exchange rate & the slow down of export from China. In an industry where we already struggle to compete against the big guys, w...e are doing our best to keep our prices fair. Callouts to businesses remain the same however home callouts will be kept to a minimum so we would prefer home customers to bring their computers in to us. Please if you are sick at all, do not come in to our workshop. We can't stress that enough. We can collect computers at our front workshop door. 14.01.2022 This is what happens to phone batteries when they overheat or the packaging gets pierced. If you hear a pop or your phone gets excessively hot then you dont have long to get your phone away from flammable sources. This battery started smoking and letting off a pungent smell before catching on fire and burning to a crisp. Luckily rob knew the warning signs and was able to get the battery safely outside in time.

11.01.2022 We have another busy week ahead and are currently booked out until 2pm Thursday! Next week we will be closed on Monday 27th for the Australia Day public holiday but we will also be closed Tuesday 28th as our son is starting school in Cairns and we need to get him settled in. This is a very exciting time for him as he will be closer to training but it also means that Laura will now be in the workshop full time as of February. We apologise for the extended long weekend but we look forward to being more available in 2020!

03.01.2022 Given the current threat posed by the Coronavirus outbreak, RMPC Repairs kindly asks you to assist us in minimising the potential threat to our customers, us & our family, especially since we work from home. If you have been overseas in the last 30 days, have been around someone who has been overseas in the last 30 days or have flu like symptoms, specifically sore throat, cough or fevers then please ring before entering the workshop. Rob would prefer not to do callouts to tho...se vulnerable at this time so if repairs are required, we ask that they are dropped off to our workshop. While we know this is not always possible or convenient, we are trying our best to lower the risk to some of our more at risk customers. To ensure a high level of hygiene on our end we will be sanitising all computers & phones that come into our workshop. We are also washing our hands after each repair and have hand sanitiser available in our workshop and rob will have some on him onsite. At this stage we are business as usual and we are keeping up to date with the most frequent advice given from the Government and will keep you informed if anything changes. See more

02.01.2022 This morning i rang a few of our elderly customers just to check in, make sure they were doing ok and had everything they needed. Even though they are well and have support from family or blue care they said it was so nice to know other people were thinking of them. Right now people are dealing with loss of income, loss of livelihood and even loss of physical outlets which we know has an impact on mental health. Its a reminder that although we need to look after our own fami...ly unit and the people closest to us, that some people don't have that network available to them. Rob and I have discussed at length about how we continue to run our business safely and responsibly as we don't want to leave our customers without access to the outside world. We are starting to do a lot more remote sessions for those customers that have software or email issues. Obviously this is not a solution for all problems but its a start. We will continue to take jobs until we are told otherwise but home call outs are no longer available and business are kept to a minimum and for emergencies only. 01.01.2022 With storm season fast approaching, don't forget to unplug all electrical devices when there is lightening and thunder around. We see so many computers, monitors and other electronics come into our workshop that have sustained damage due to a power surge. For those items that do get damaged, we can do insurance claims as well.

01.01.2022 I have been married to the boss man for 8 years today so I am taking him out to lunch. We will be closed between 1-2pm. It has been a wonderful and very rewarding 8 years but most importantly we have been working side by side for 5 and a half years now and haven't killed each other so that's a marriage win in my books
