17.01.2022 Update on missing steering wheel. Thank you to all the people who have shared this information, and also the people who have messaged me . Here is the latest update .... I have received several messages from people camping at the event. They claim to have overheard an adjoining campsite talking about a steering wheel that had been souvenired from a racing car. I have been provide the campsite number, and also the possible city where the campers were from. Supercars / BCC have a list of all campsite registration details . I also have been sent photos of my car taken in the parc ferme from numerous people. Some showing the steering wheel attached, some showing it gone. All these images have time stamps, so I have narrowed the time the steering wheel went missing. I trust that all racefans are decent people, and that somehow, someone has inadvertently ended up with this expensive item in their possession. My only focus is to receive back the steering wheel. If you live in, or around Canberra, and you know anything about this wheel, or who may have it please contact me directly, or Supercars, or Racerindustries (07 5546 2040), or the wheel can be returned completely anonymously to: Neal Bates Motorsport 48 Sheppard St Hume, ACT, 2620 Open normal business hours. Someone knows where this wheel is. I want it back. Regards Ryan McLeod [email protected]

10.01.2022 Steering Wheel Returned ! Fantastic news that today I have received back my steering wheel. The wheel was removed from the 92 Scandia MARC II V8 whilst the car was in the parc-ferme compound at Bathurst last weekend.... Following several messages responding to my last FB post, I received a phone call from a gentleman from "country NSW" who had come into possesion of the wheel. He told me that he was contacting me on behalf of the person(s) that took the wheel, and that they apologised for their "Drunken Act" He then agreed to deliver the wheel to an address in Orange where I have collected it this morning. I would like to thank all the people that shared the information on social media, the wide-spread distribution of the information undoubtedly placed massive pressure on those involved to do the right thing. How some drunken spectators walk into a secure compound and walk back out with such a piece of equipment in hand is beyond me ... But anyway , main thing is I have it back. Thanks again to all involved. The power of social media is indeed outstanding. Regards Ryan McLeod

04.01.2022 Missing - Custom MARC II V8 steering wheel. Sometime on Saturday evening or Sunday morning at the Bathurst 12hr our brand new custom steering wheel from Italy has been "misplaced" while our 92 car was in the parc ferme compound. The wheel was still attached to our 92 Scandia car when we left it on Saturday eve, Sunday when we loaded the car it was gone .... The wheel is custom made in Italy, it is completely bespoke, it will not operate on any other car . The serial number is 001..we hold the spare 002 unit in our stock. It bears the unique Racer Industries logo under the clear coat on the front cover. I'm hopeful that someone has taken the wheel assuming the whole car is going to be thrown in the bin..similar to pilfering from a kerb-side collection. Somewhere, someone has this wheel, it's likely they have shown it to someone else. I'm appealing to someone's good nature to come forward. The wheel can be returned to any CAMS (motorsport Australia) office, Racer Industries , or any reputable Motorsports parts supplier or MoTeC agent . The wheel is of significant financial value, but also is required as we repair the car to export to our next event in Monza. Somewhere...someone has this wheel please forward and share this post to help us secure it's return. Regards Ryan McLeod
