04.03.2022 The start of daylight savings is a great annual reminder to check your smoke alarm is in working condition. Here are our 4 tips to ensure your family and home a...re protected: 1 Test your smoke alarm(s) using the test/hush button. 2 Batteries should be replaced every 12 months. To check your batteries simply switch the mains power off and use the test/hush button. Just don’t forget to switch the mains power back on! 3 Dust and insects can cause smoke alarms to go off so take some time to clean the alarm by removing dust and insects. 4 Smoke alarms should be replaced every 10 years. So whilst you are checking it’s working, take a look at the date and make a mental note or better yet place a reminder for when it is due. If your alarm is 10 years or older, please contact an electrician to get it replaced. For more information, please head to clipsal.com/smokealarms

23.02.2022 Reducing risk with safety switches. Safety switches are the single most effective measure to prevent electrocutions and serious electrical injuries. The risk is... real: 15 people are killed and about 300 seriously injured each year in avoidable electrical accidents in homes. Find out more about keeping you and your family safe at home https://bit.ly/3CANiyx. More importantly, get a licenced electrician to perform any electrical works. Do not do it yourself. #HagerAU #safeathome #safety #electricalwork #sparkylife #electrician #safetyswitches #RCBO #RCD #family

09.01.2022 Here’s a full switchboard upgrade we did the other day. The back panel was asbestos so we disconnected power from the point of attachment, removed the meters and all service equipment installed a new panel and rewired everything. We then upgraded the old ceramic fuses to rcbo safety switches on every circuit and even installed a surge protection to protect all the clients appliances in the house. Leaving the client with the safest switchboard possible!
