19.01.2022 Palomino Island is a small island off the coast of Callao, Peru. Home to a large population of sea lions and seabirds. On my last visit to Peru my group got a chance to venture out to this small island. We took a short, fairly bumpy motorboat ride and as we approached Palomino island we noticed many sea lions playing in the water around us. We could hear the barking of the sea lions in the distance. It was then that we realised that the island in front of us was almost totally covered with sea lions! This is the spot that you can swim with wild sea lions. The water is very cold, definitely not for me but some of the girls were brave enough to partake in this once-in-lifetime experience. Here are a few of my photos from my visit to Palomino Island. #onceinalifetimeexperience #palominoisland #swimwithwildsealions

Ris á la mande is a traditional Danish dessert served at Christmas dinner. It is a rice pudding mixed with chopped almonds served cold with a hot cherry sauce.... There’s a fun Christmas tradition that accompanies this dessert: The cook hides one whole almond in the rice pudding and the person who finds the hidden almond in the dessert wins a mandelgave (almond present) in the form of a marzipan pig or a chocolate heart. 09.01.2022 Did you know that Vanuatu invented bungee jumping? On the small Vanuatu island of Pentecost, in early April, locals build wooden towers between 20-30m high. Until the end of May, village boys and men perform the ritual known as Nanggol, diving from these rickety wooden structures with nothing but vines tied to their ankles. This is considered the precursor to bungee jumping. #bungeejumpingvanuatu #pentecostislandvanuatu #bungeejumpingpentecost #visitvanuatu #vanuatu2021 #vanuatutourism

01.01.2022 Day 8 - Bûche De Noël (Yule Log Cake) Bûche De Noël is a traditional French Christmas cake whose name literally means "Yule log." It's usually a chocolate sponge cake baked and rolled into the shape of a log and dusted with confectioner's sugar to resemble white snow on the fallen log. During the Middle Ages in France the people had a Christmas tradition that on Christmas Eve they would search for a huge tree log. They would bring it into their homes and place the largest en...d into the fire. The whole tree would be burned. The fire would last throughout Christmas eve and Christmas day. It was a symbolise of good luck for the coming new year. I haven't made this recipe yet but when I do I am going to try Sally's recipe, it looks delicious - here is the link to her gorgeous looking recipe https://sallysbakingaddiction.com/buche-de-noel-yule-log/ or https://bit.ly/2WlJePC #11christmastraditions #christmastraditions #frenchchristmastradition #BûcheDeNoël #frenchchristmascake #sallybakingaddiction
